good point. I have been over to Donnington Hall today. met lots of the lovely folks at the Norton factory and in the showroom. settled up with them for my V4 SS. the bikes stunning I saw a few that are completed and awaiting collection from their respective customers.

100% positive feedback, would anyone give negative feedback. a tad intimidating!!
If by threatening you find the prospect of being chased by someone with a fluffy boa and sequins.

I've yet to meet anyone remote 'hard' who needs to go any form of extreme with which to prove it

Mine arrived yesterday. I might be persuaded to sell one day.

So... my V4SS built and ready for collection! Went up last week for a look at it and rode Stuart’s personal bike. #1

Only a 20-odd mile hoon but man that thing feels fast and stable

Mine’s #50 and I sent carbon/carbon/colour flag.

Any clue what I should insure it for? I’ve not seen one bike sold on yet so hard to know its value. No chance of getting a replacement though...

Surely you’d insure it for what you paid for it then?!

They’ll knock some off for being ‘used’ if it does get nicked or burnt out (ie total loss) but if there’s no used prices available I guess they have no choice!

Makes sense, but I see other limited SS versions of Nortons and obviously hard to come by stuff from Ducati, Honda, Porsche, Ferrari etc etc are available but at a significant premium over new.

I doubt if an SS came up it would be less than list price, but I don’t know as none have yet.

It’d be annoying if the worst happened and insurance came up short...

Just seen one in the flesh today at motorfest Chelmsford. Beautiful bit of kit. Why would you ever sell one?!

I've no idea what people paid new, but I suspect you won't find an insurer that will pay out what people are getting as a premium though!

Plus an eBay sale isn't a great gauge. People can easily inflate prices in auctions (whether online or 'real') to make their own machines appear to be worth a ton more money, it happens very regularly in old bike circles!

Get an 'Agreed Value' policy. ie you pay more to insure it for a specific value.

Can anyone recommend an insurer? I wouldn't imagine the "meer cats" can help.

I'd give Peter James a call. I know they insure a lot of high value classic bikes so are most likely to be able to at least have a decent go at quoting!
