Can't help find any cheaper but if it helps, I'm in Scotland, and my R1200 GS Adv is £95 a year to insure. smile

Some of the quotes mentioned are scary money and if I still lived down south I don't think I'd be able to justify the costs. I passed my test this month. My Tiger 1050 F/C for commuting and business myself and my brother with a non fault claim for me is £600. Excess is 800 though but I might look at an excess policy.

I’d expect the insurance companies to pay me if I lived in some godforsaken place too

Excesses are completely irrelevant nowadays. You can insure them elsewhere for peanuts. Why this seems to be passing people by is beyond me. I know my comments are being totally ignored on this thread for some reason, but this has been mentioned by at least two other people as well.
I'm going to sound very ignorant here but I actually never knew you could do that.paperbag
Going to have a better look into it as I have an 18 year old son and a daughter just about to turn 17 and start driving, the insurance quotes and excesses are eye watering.
