Swapping multi function wheel for sport design wheel
Discussion
I’ve just bought a Boxster S from Porsche Reading and as part of the deal requested the wheel to be swapped for a Sport Design. I was told they’re on back order for 6 months so will look for alternatives, it appears Design911 list them so will give them a call when I collect the car. I’m also going to look into the option of fitting a 718 wheel as mentioned above.
Recently paid £580 for a barely used alcantara sportdesign wheel with paddles off eBay for my 997.2 replacing a multifunction wheel. My OPC quoted around £850 fitted for a leather one and it was on back order. It was fairly straightforward to fit, lots of useful videos online.
Really pleased with the results both aesthetically and functionally. Even though I do not hate the pdk buttons, the paddles are just so much inituitve to use.

I’ll keep an eye out on EBay, Porsche Reading quoted £925 for the wheel plus 90 mins labour to fit.Really pleased with the results both aesthetically and functionally. Even though I do not hate the pdk buttons, the paddles are just so much inituitve to use.
