iPad storage question.

My iPad is full mainly dog pictures. I can download them to my computer quite easy it seams then delete from iPad.

Problem is if I delete from iPad it removes them from iCloud too I’d like to keep them there as back up I pay for it.

So question is can I remove pictures from iPad but still have them on the cloud?

Yes, just upload all to Google photos, free backup and it lets you remove from device yet keep a copy in Google's cloud.

I want to do this too, I don’t want to save them on another cloud, I want them saved in iCloud but off my iPad? Can this be done?

Go to settings, general, iPhone/iPad storage and then enable optimise photos. This will keep them on the cloud and have smaller sized versions on your iPad.

That was enabled long ago.

Guess I’m just too old and stupid for all this, why can’t I just copy folder and paste into a Hard drive on pc


So I’ve clicked back up iPad google photos I’m plugged into pc and google phots on pc.


They are backing up but 9000 won’t probably because memory is full on iPad so it won’t play at doing anything,


Plus I’m in the same boat how do I get them off google pics into a folder on my hard drive I can’t see anywhere that says export for instance I can’t click on photos folder and copy. Plus I can’t do that anyway as most photos have etc not uploaded.

Cool. I’ll have a look at that when I can get the iPad to transfer everything over. It just wind send them.

Trying again. It just won’t send them all over. There are about 100 video clips only two turn up on google photos

Banks of phones are missing I though maybe there were rearranged in a different order but no. They are just not there,

I dare not delete anything I’ve offloaded all the apps iPad still jammed up, why can’t apple put a memory card in ffs.

This should take seconds not days
