Drums have significantly less stopping power than a modern disc so you're much less likely to lock one up!
IME They are more difficult to modulate. You need to pull/press harder on the lever/pedal for the same braking force, but the transition from steady braking to locking is more sudden.

When looking for a bike I’ll search all of the UK and then, when I like the look of one, I’ll use either uship or anyvan to get a delivery quote.
Couriers then bid for your business and you can choose either the cheapest or the one who’s feedback you’re most happy with.
I had a bike delivered from Bracknell to Liverpool (approx 200 miles) for £90 last June.
I had to be pretty flexible for the drop off day but for that price I wasn’t complaining!
