Who's going to the TT this year?

I'm sure Hickman ran a superstock bike with slicks on in the senior last year or the year before.
I might have dreamt it though.

I think he used a superstock engine in a superbike. Some say the superstocks are easier to ride as the superbikes are such a handful now. Not sure how true that is.I might have dreamt it though.

I agree and I think that either of them will be capable of it. Michael Dunlop will also be on a mission, even more so after his time penalty today. Personally, I hope that either Harrison or Hickman get it, both awesome riders and equally deserving of it. Going to be a good day I reckon!
You’re more qualified to comment on this than me but if Hickman is capable of 134.4 on a stocker(I’ve no doubt that lap could have been quicker) is the extra power of the Superbike actually useful or is it a bit overkill? In my head, the Superbike advantage is in the chassis/suspension rather than the extra 20-30bhp. Would a simple, fairly stock motor in a Superbike chassis be the ultimate weapon round there? Been a bit lazy with the spectating this TT, sticking with what's become my spot on the inside of Parliament Square rather than venture further afield, it's 2 minutes from home & you can see right down to May Hill though did watch by the footbridge a few times through practice week. Do need to explore, if not for the racing at least to see what's on offer entertainment wise in Douglas what with the new Bushy's & changes by the grandstand.
Despite his reputation in his earlier years as a hot head Michael D is showing remarkable composure, half expected him to kick the cat re the pit lane penalty but in the press conference at least he accepted the line is clear, he went over, fair enough. That & the way he manages the race, the lightweight being a good example where he went fast but held a bit in reserve knowing the fragility of the 650's, great racecraft. Nice stat mentioned today: the Dunlop family have 49 TT wins in total. Joey 26, Michael 18, Robert 5. Maybe it would be nice if that could be rounded off to 50 on Friday.
Can't believe there's only 1 race day left!
P.S: thanks Robin for the great insight

It's true that a lot of the "Superbikes" now are hybrid Stockers, and I think Rutter was using a bone stock unopened motor in his Superbike on Saturday, although this was forced on him due issues.
Interestingly, in the paddock last week the Sutter appeared to be on road rubber too. Perhaps it's too light to work with slicks designed for 185kg bikes?
Not so long ago 120 mph was bust. Could I see 150mph in my lifetime....? Mental to even think it!!

I was there when David Jefferies did the first 125mph lap and I geniunely thought i'd never see quicker....how wrong was I. Miss the big man though, such a talent.
So do I. Got this in the Hilton after the race when he was having a few beers to celebrate the win. It’s in my downstairs bog and I look at it often.I’ll always remember when the V&M R1 beat all the exotic stuff in the Formula 1. It was when road bikes started to dominate and the end of an era.

Some of the photos that come back are just superb! Cheers for the wishes about mum, it was a massive loss, but for the best for her sadly.
I do still race but I am taking a bit of time out to save some cash in preparation for changing class up to the 1000cc machines next year.
I am sure you will love doing track days. It is simply the most amazing feeling being able to use a bike properly. What bike will you be using? Any tips you need, let me know (and I don't mean to be patronising there, but first track days can be daunting).
Thanks, I'll definitely bear that in mind I do still race but I am taking a bit of time out to save some cash in preparation for changing class up to the 1000cc machines next year.

Not sure on the bike yet, I'll need something better than my current steed though... I was thinking either SV650 or any of the 600s. I'm going to need all the gear too as I only have textiles at the moment, so lots to think about hence the plans for next year.

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Honda-CBR650f-Race-Trac... Slightly left field choice, but good fun without breaking the bank. I personally loved my GSXR600, they just aren't as popular for racing as they cost a lot to get the power out of, but for track days, the chassis is superb and they handle so well. Good luck with it all!
Got back Tuesday night and gutted I couldn't have stayed longer!
Watched from a few different spots all with something different, Crosby jump, Rhencullen, Sulby straight, Ballaugh Bridge, all amazing places. Saw pure speed, jumps, speed wobbles.. The ability of the riders is amazing to see.
One of the highlights of the weekend was seeing McGuinness come past us at Rhencullen, glad I got to see him go round!
Connor Cummins stopped right by us when he retired from the race other day also so got a snap with him.
Also had a walk round the grandstand after the super stock race and bumped into Peter Hickman, was like a kid at Christmas!
Finally, just getting to rise round the course and over the mountain was a great experience, must have done the mountain about 10-15 times in 3 days.. Awesome!

Just got back from my first TT. Not my Last, but also not something I would be going to every year. Mainly as I love Le mans Week and touring Europe with mates as well.
Saying in Devonian in Douglas as no issues with the bike parked on the road. I did cover it at night as she got a huge amount of stares.
I seen 2 other H2's both I know Via the Net to say hi to.
Lovely weather, talked to people from japan who shipped his bike over, Switzerland chap, German, Dutch, Irish etc... and all really nice and looking the island and weather. Of course the racing.
I was lucky not to have any issues with people on the wrong side of the road. riding like idiots. Yes a few nobblers but nothing to bad.
Cracking entertainment and mainly spending the time with 5 other mates enjoying everything was just amazing.
So glad I've been and another ticked off my bucket list.
