Mallory Park part-owner Stuart Hicken has said BSB is still on the radar to return with the appropriate work carried out. It only went off due to the trouble they had under previous ownership and the noise issues which made the BARC walk away from the circuit. It had nothing to do with Jonathan Palmer.

Ditto Croft, that was the hassle caused by the husband and wife split that caused the whole circuit to be closed down. Not sure if they’ve resurfaced it now, but there’s no way BSB can go back with the track like it was last year. It needed mowing in places.

Donnington needs resurfacing now as well, maybe palmer will get it done.

Why? It was fine last year amd they’ve done a bit of work since then, I’ve not heard anyone complaining about it this year

Ducati are in talks with a few teams about running their new V4 for next year. Rumours are that Paul Bird might withdraw from BSB to increase support for his son Frank as he aims to step up from Formula Renault Eurocup to F2. If true (and in addition to this injury) Shakey might just call it quits.

Rumour was that Paul Bird would walk away once Shakey retires. I think it might actually be good for the series, as he’s got so much more money to throw at it than everyone else.

On a side note, his helicopter was landing as I rode past his place yesterday in Langwathby. A proper helicopter too, not one of those whirlybird things.

or Shakey has told him he's quitting and he's not prepared to run a bsb team without him.

As has been said, only shakey can decide this but man its a big one and no one would blame him if he hung up his leathers, he's nothing left to prove.

He's done an interview with Johnny Smith of Fifth Gear and The Late Brake Show:

I've not watched the second video in which he has motorcycles stacked up like a motorcycle dealer:
