Hardly one us lot is he , I had the misfortune of seeing this lot at junction 26 m1 island last year , 15 plus bikes from old mx through to modern sports bikes , the scene was total anarchy. Gang land culture springs to mind . They no how to honk a fat wheelie though so ill give them that

So that's 21 month pokey for 5 counts of dangerous driving? No jail time for speeding.
I could be wrong, but I believe anything over 100 mph is classified as 'dangerous driving' rather than speeding. It carries a higher range of punishment.
No. The test for dangerous driving is whether your driving fell far below the required "normal" standards, judged objectively.
Dangerous is defined as a risk of injury (whether or not that happens) or serious damage to property (should you be unlucky enough to hit it).
Excess speed is never "automatically" dangerous driving so a high speed midnight run on a well-lit deserted road in the middle of nowhere might not qualify you for dangerous driving whereas 80mph through a residential 40mph would be and evn 50 through a 20 zone at child chucking out time could also result in the charge.

However you look at it, 189mph on a public road satisfies the statutorytest of being dangerous.

Sentencing Guidelines categorize the levels of dangerous driving and this falls into the top category, namely "Prolonged bad driving involving deliberate disregard for the safety of others" where the appropriate venue is the Crown Court ie in excess of the Mags Ct power of 6m Imprisonment.

The maximum sentence is 2 years but you're entitled to a 1/3 discount for an early guilty plea although you may also get consecutive terms of imprisonment for each offence. Your previous convictions also affect the overall sentence.

For a successful DD conviction you need multiple factors e.g. excessive speed, crossing white line, on the phone, eating a banana etc
Not if they plead guilty, you don't...

"Raided his house"? Does seem excessive since it was a victimless crime..
They just did a section 18 search, there was no "raid"

How is theft a victimless crime?

And you don't anyway. He made that up.
You do need stuff like that for driving whilst unfit through drink or drugs as opposed to over the limit which is why the excess alcohol is far easier to prove..

Here’s another article which gives a bit more detail (amazingly given the source!)

https://www.thesun.co.uk/news/6822500/idiot-biker-...

When I read the BBC article I thought it sounded a bit harsh assuming he was a decent chap who’d just been a bit of a knob. Then I read the above! Deserves all he gets and more. I’m actually rather cross about the anti-biker agenda that’s apparent by the under reporting of the full facts. The bloke’s not a biker, he’s a thieving .

Scum.

Wasn’t the 189 recorded on a Stolen bike. Anyways, waste of oxygen. Not the speeding, being a thief and a tool.

If above is correct I hope he gets wiped out. Looks pretty handy at the wheelies though.

Many a true word...………..!

The message seems to be do whatever you like, just don't go too fast through one of the few working cameras. banghead

The police seem rather pleased with themselves. But what have they done to apprehend the rest? Clearly only apprehending one out of a group does not send out the message they claim it does

In fairness to the police in this case, it appears to me that they arrested him because he was found with stolen number plates and searched his house as a result of that so they were trying to combat vehicle theft when they stumbled across all his daft videos so charged him with all that too. Seems like good work to me.

Typical press reports though concentrating on the speed, not convinced he was riding at 189mph with one hand though but that is typical of today’s shoddy journalism.
