Worst: The epically st XL Moto backpack we all bought when heavily reduced and then very soon found out why!
That backpack is the best purchase I’ve ever made - paid £13 delivered and when people had problems with it they gave me a £30 voucher and I got to keep the bag! I’ve never used it mind.
True. I bought a half decent one with the voucher, but the original was poorly designed and badly executed. I wonder if we could find someone who paid full price? It’s permantly on some sort of discount, I shudder every time the promo email arrives thumbup

:-) It was a genuine question, there's a guy on another forum that put a sheepskin seat on his S1000R and took a lot of flak for it....his first name is george. Wondered if it was the same person.
Is it a red S1000R by any chance? If so, I think said George also let his sheepskin on for a trackday.

If not there's two Georges who love a bit of sheepskin.
That's the one!! :-)

Best?

Without doubt the bike lift. Worth it's (considerable) weight in gold. Just needed a sheet of plywood bolting on to stop the bikes sliding about. Should have bought one years ago.

Worst?

My Frank Thomas waterproof boots are pants. Which is a shame, because I was after a pair of waterproof boots and not some pants.

Yeah, bike lifts are great.

Echo the comments above about HEL lines. After three attempts, I'm still left with front hoses that are slighly too long and only just workable orientation.

You lucky, lucky, lucky so & so!!! I wish I had the space for one of those - I've taken the Machine Mart catalogue to the throne room on several occasions to oggle the bike lift page..... getmecoat

Worst: AirHawk Inflatable seat - bought to use over a race seat unit on an old R1, punctured pretty much straight away and also held water if it rained - utter crap

Best: Kreiga kit - good quality and has lasted for ages
Avon Storm tyres - last ages and perform good enough for trackdays (especially if its wet!)

The boots were worse than that Honda?

In my defence, the CB350 belongs to my wife.

I bought it as punishment after she dropped her XBR500.

But yes, the boots are rotten.

Best: JIS (Japanese industrial standard) screwdrivers - no more mullered screw heads.

Worst: front paddock stand, it might actually be ok but it hasn’t been compatible or with any of the bikes I’ve tried. Ally box section looks nice though.
well at least I thought of something to buy, JIS set ordered. Kept forgetting to.

I thought any self-respecting Scotsman would use the one in his toolkit.

Best - Probably a toss up between my Knox Biomech gloves, and my Alpinestar SMX-3 Gore Tex boots. they're utterly fantastic.

Worst would have to be the R&G heated grips I was given one christmas. They either didn't get warm enough, or got too warm, and the rubber on the grip actually wore out after not very long.

Best: stompgrips. I love them on track although I fitted them in the normal position and due to me being 6’4” and riding a 600 my legs don’t actually touch them during straight line braking so I lose half the benefit but when setting up for a corner under brakes and through the corner they proper lock you in, love them.

Worst: stompgrips. Knacker leathers really quick, my brother and dad have different brands on their bikes which are kind on leathers but don’t offer anywhere near the same grip mine do.
