Looking good but you definitely need to build another...

As for building another... its already here , its a Ducati ST4s... going to be more radical this time...
In fact I did make a start... but she came into the the garage.... "what are those Carburettors off" So now I am banned from the garage until September

Well the miles are increasing! Its running really well and I have done quite a few trips out with it, and I am enjoying the ride. Slight mishap... forgot I had left the tap on reserve and ran out of fuel!
I seem to do this at least once a year. You'd think you'd learn but you never do. buzzer said:

Are you sure it's not the old airplane in the previous photo?? is your garage big enought for that
But please do keep us updated with the build, enjoy your new toy
Thought I would update as although the bike went well enough, it missed that sharpness of the original bike… I thought it may have been the carb conversion, but it didn't feel like it...
so I checked the timing with a timing disk (been a while since I used it!) and a strobe, and guess what, the values in the matrix in the software didn’t correspond with what was actually happening on the engine! the bike was actually retarded throughout the rev range. I think this has something to do with the way the software is configured, I have emailed the manufacturer to see what they say. As a work around I set about changing the values so I had correct advance using a timing disc and a strobe. its now running MUCH MUCH better, and feels far more crisp! here are the before and after maps. although the second map says its getting 42 degrees advance, in reality its 34. It also ticks over much better... at the moment the TPS option is off... I will wait to see what Ignitech say before I do much more

Now that you have the ST4S based bike well under way and of course we are approaching winter, would you be looking to sell the Orange bike ?
A
I have thought about it... but to be honest I really like the way it rides... so for this year at least I will be keeping it. thanks for the interest though!A
Bit of an update... I rode the bike all last summer and have to say I love the way it rides and handles! but I felt that the 900 Monster carbs and long manifolds did nothing for the performance so I have just bought a pair of 41mm keihin FCR flat slides. they are copies, but appear to be very good quality! I will be making a pair of custom manifolds and split mounting them over the winter....
