The Street Triple 765RS keeps enticing me in, I’ve had 2 675s, and they’re an absolute blast. Lighter and more power than the 660!
I did consider the ST when I bought the Tuono but couldn’t get past the looks but also it didn’t have cornering ABS (which the Tuono and RS660 have). Not that I am planning to have to use it but figured that if I ever needed it, it was something worthwhile having (a bit like my leathers - only “used” them properly twice - and hopefully for the last time! - but I was glad to be wearing them when they became useful).

Anyone have an idea of where APRILIA might price this? I've seen anything from 9-14K suggested

I doubt you would be disappointed.
The 765RS is on a whole new level up from the ST675 & even the standard 765.
My riding buddy has one & its more than capable of keeping up with my CB1000R, not as plush but not lacking performance & goodies as standard.

Especially after dealer uploads software at first service !

Yeah, no one has a bad word to say and the 2020 model had a nice mid range bump. My Daytona R was great for embarrassing bigger bikes around Brands Hatch, and I would then cruse back home down the M25 in relative comfort. Only problem was noise regs, even with just a slip on can.

I really like the look of this.

Trying to decide on my bike and it’s between this and a Ducati Supersport for fun and commuting duties.

Hope the insurance is sensible.
From what I've read I suspect it'll be a bit more towards the track oriented side of things than anything else.

Looks cracking though, it's nice to see a mud capacity sports bike coming. If only KTM would do an RC890R to compete with it!
From the pictures it really doesn't look like a bike built for the track, for example the position of the bars is quite high.

That's what it looks like to me too, a road friendly sports bike. Similar to the Ducati SuperSport.

I'll wait for the reviews but might be the perfect modern replacement for my CBR600RR.

Yep, called it totally backwards if the reviews are to be believed. Not a track beast at all, much more towards the road-friendly end like the Duc Supersport

Could be both. I didn’t take my RS250 on track but by all accounts they do very well on track. However it was a very easy and enjoyable bike to use on the road - at least in my experience. It was light, comfortable and great fun (as long as you kept the revs up).

I think a factory version of the RS660 would be great but problem will be pricing. With discounts I only paid £13k for a factory Tuono. Paying £11k plus for a factory 660 wouldn’t make a lot of sense.

Definitely one of those bikes you’d like “someone else” to buy and really like.

At £10k for a 660 parallel twin in a sector that is pretty stale I’m really not sure how well it’ll sell when it comes to the type of rider it’s aimed it.

Interesting to see how it does

What sort of oomph does it have?
I cannot make my mind up on it, looks to be a bit low rent in some areas, but at 10k?
Mind you, nothing more frustrating that a sweet handling bike that is hard work on the road due to a motor that is a bit shy,

About 100 bhp. I think the rationale for the bike is something that you have to work a bit harder to maintain pace.

It seems to be much more than half as good as an RSV4 even though it is close to half the price.

If and when my dealer gets a demo I am definitely going to try it.

I reckon it’ll be the kind of bike where if you were given one you keep it, ride it and really enjoy it, but it’s just not the bike many of us would buy as the numbers aren’t right.

Supposedly they've said this will be sorted by the time the bikes avilable to the public. They may of course not fully deliver on that.. time will tell.

More interestingly from that article;

Perhaps my favorite feature on the Aprilia RS 660 is the rear seat, though. As strange as that might sound, Aprilia has designed something here that is surely going to be copied by other brands in the future.

The killer feature though is that underneath the removable seat padding, there is a mounting platform for a top box / milk crate / whatever.
Pic of said mounting seems visible here; https://i1.wp.com/www.asphaltandrubber.com/wp-cont...
