I enjoy buying and selling cars and bikes and putting plenty of miles on both every year. Usually you tend to get what you pay for unless you are very lucky or can haggle well. But i just swapped a 1974 moped for a 2008 Ducati 1098S superbike with low miles, recent new engine belts and a stonking set of Termignoni pipes to give the stock 160 bhp a little welcome boost. This thing has Ohlins suspension and Brembo brakes that are like hitting a stone wall when you use them.
How exactly can a 1973 FS1E be worth the same as the gorgeous looking and sounding Ducati when the truth is at 17 every one of us was desperate to get rid of the desperately slow sewing machines and get an RD250 or similar?

Is that the official model name with "superbike" in the title?
You know this is a motorbike forum, we do know what a Ducati is.

But he hasn't used superbike as a 'title' merely a descriptor, would have had a capital S if he were using it as the model name, he is just describing it, its a superbike, its not an enduro, or a motard or a cafe racer, its a superbike .....

And you know this particular bike forum isn't full of sanctimonious tts don't you ?

I think the membership has grown now to reflect the general unpleasantness of the rest of the PH forums, there are certainly a lot more knobheads on here than there ever was.

If you want to try unpleasantness go on the TV forum/ Top gear thread and dare to suggest Chris Harris is not the world best presenter

It's certainly a great swap dynamically, BUT, in 5 years...…….which way will it go...……??
1098s is a cracking bike, more hooligan than then 1198 really, but all the hooligan superbikes don't go as mad as things like the fizzy.

I think you have done the right thing, thinking the fizzy was say 6k, if it is a nice 1098s, you should hover about 6k for a few years yet, but will they ever be worth 10k? Who knows...…..but I can see immaculate fizzy's with provenance making near 10k one day...
