Talking of Spain and Morocco. I'm still due my brother a long weekend enduro trip away somewhere for his 40th.

Has anyone done one of these weekends (anywhere abroad) that they can recommend?

The more you Google, the more you uncover. We quite fancied Spain or Romania.

I’m sailing in Spain until the 5th and potentially in Monaco from the 7th but if by some miracle I’m at home then I will definitely be keen. I’ve only ridden the WR once on the road since we went out in January and have been thinking of selling it so think I need to ride it to change my mind!
Hope you get to come along, just drop me a PM or a message in here if you do and I'll keep an eye out for you.

Didn't go to Cheddar Saturday as they were closed. Luckily a friend of mine has a farmer friend that prior to planting Maize in a field uses it as a practice track in the winter.

So 10 minutes up the road and a tenner later I had a couple of hours ripping around a flat field.

Weather conditions were fantastic but the track was a little loose from previous rides there. It got mentioned to the land owner and 5 minutes later he turned up in his tractor with a harrow attachment and regraded the whole track hehe The grip levels immediately after were phenomenal compared to before!

No kidding! That's fecking miles away hehe

We have something in common... riding KTM's at the back end of the novice group thumbup
Had a great day yesterday,my lad is finally picking up the pace and getting to grips with his bike so no need to swap hopefully.
He's started to get a little bit of air off the jumps and getting the arse end out round corners so he's a happy chappie.
I'm getting to grips with the bigger jumps although still not 100% happy getting bigger air,i'm to old too hit the floor hard.

our last session of the day some experts crept in which I wasn't very happy about,we're in the novice group because we're not very good and don't need elbowing out of the way on corners.eekmad
I Had a proper moan at the bloke running it.

Wen to Moto Madness at Haggs Bank - great weekend, some tricky trails (deep ruts, loose gravel, boulder sections - pretty much everything except deep mud) and a river crossing - at which point I dropped my bike into the river frown Once we extracted it, the engine was hydro locked.

The guide called the organiser at Haggs who got his van and trailer ready but we wecided no harm in stripping off the front to remove the filters and spark plugs - turned over with the start and water spouted out the plug holes. Plugs back in - fired up like nothing had happened smile

Getting an Africa Twin out of a river is easier said than done!

Does any one know much about the KTM SXF 2006 model?

Reason I ask is google seems light on information and I'm trying to do some research as someone has offered one in a deal against my R1.
It's been made road legal with a certificate of conformity etc and has current MOT and front and rear lights fitted.

Anyone know common issues or weak points on this bike in particular (above and beyond an MX bike being highly strung for road use)?
Would the generator have needed to be changed to run the lighting kit that's fitted or is the original tough enough to cope?

thanks in advance

Did a trials day on saturday at Stewart Day's trial school.
Never been on a trials bike in my life so was very much looking forward to it.
Day started doing a few basic drills on the bike and and progressed from there onto the moors and around the farm that he owns.
What did I learn, well basically I can't ride for toffee but had a hell of a fun day finding that out, learnt loads of new techniques and my boy can now control a bike properly.biggrin

The instructors are friendly and very enthusiastic and I would highly recommend the day to anyone interested in this sort of thing.
On a side note I didn't move off the sofa Sunday as my body was in too much pain,I can just about walk properly today.eekbiggrin

Team Ballbag took part in Moped Mayhem at the weekend, finished 6th in class, not too bad considered we spent 45mins repairing a broken throttle cable.

It was dusty, dirty, exhausting and bloody brilliant fun. Hopefully taking part in the next one biggrin

Have been doing quite a bit of offroading in the last few weeks. Some fast fire trails, some pretty technical rock steps and a local dirt track area.

Never done off-roading, so me and 2 friends are booked up this weekend at the Mick Extance Experience in Wales.

Great reviews and seems like a whole lot of fun.. simply cannot wait!!!

Anyone ever been with these guys? Good alternative for people who do not have off-road bikes. Seemed good value to me.

I was there for that! Finished 1st in class with a 2 lap lead, after loosing a 7 lap lead!

As you say, was very dusty once the track dried out, very exhausting. We went for a 2 rider team doing 15 or so laps each at a time.

At around hour 3 the bike died on change over and wouldn't re start, took us almost 10 minutes of faffing and replacing the spark plug to get it going again.

Very excited for the next one.

Mopes can fly...

We're up in Scotland I'm afraid - have you joined the Trailriders Fellowship (TRF) ? They will have groups near you who will know the best trails near you

Awesome! I have seen that event advertised.

Me and a few pals have been doing the Nifty Fifty for 3 or 4 years now. It's great fun ringing the neck of a crap bike for hours on end isn't it? biggrin

I work pretty close to MD racing products and decided to treat myself to a new helmet the other day. Chuffed as nuts with it and looking forward to using it tomorrow

Try A weekend on Salisbury Plain, lots of trails suitable for big adventure bikes, all well marked these days as well

How many poor buggers had to walk home this time?

Always been a bit of a theft fest, sadly. Incidents of being followed home, bikes going awol when left for 10 mins etc. Nightmare

Yep, it was the ABR festival. The bikes were taken on the Thursday night before the festival opened on the Friday. Was actually a very good event and security seemed pretty sharp from Friday onwards (I think they brought a different security contractor in... 24 hours too late).
