Honda's WSB effort is all about the Suzuka 8 hour, hence sacking Ten Kate, getting Moriwaki in and giving Kiyo a ride

Be thankful Honda aren't trying to dominate. In Motorcycle Trials they got the weight rules changed. Limited 2T to 300CC and then had a Successful promoter removed because any "suggestions" made were ignored. They use a 4T Montesa that costs a small fortune to make compared to the other bikes and they still cant win every round.

What I don’t get about Ellison is he was great on the McCams Yamaha a few years ago and finished 3rd in the championship, went to Tag and was awful but Linfoot was great on that same bike this weekend (other than some brake problems in both races which caused him to slip down towards the end of both races).

I wonder if Ellison was hoping get a ride in AMA Superbikes and couldn’t, hence he’s still in BSB after saying he was giving up and moving to the US.

They mentioned something about him not going to AMA this year in the build up to BSB Silverstone. I got the impression he did intend to go.

Interesting, thanks.

Busy with family stuff so only caught bits, did watch an epic SS sprint rcae on one day, amazing, cant stand Seeley so nice to see him barged out for once!

As for Jason and Tazz, the kid looked very peed off with it, and understandbly, the door was slightly open but not fully, he looked to be on the kerb to make the pace and Jason was quite right to feel aggrieved in my eyes.

Ellison, he is great on camera, but he has been a fiddler all his life, cant leave things alone, so always gets lost on setups. But at heart a very fast rider who will have his day 3 or 4 times a year. On anything really

He said he couldn’t leave BSB after last years disaster so had to do one more year, think he could have easily had an AMA ride, but wanted another go at BSB.

Hickman only got 2 x 14th places, they only got the bike about 4 weeks ago so I think they will improve a fair whack by next round.

Also the bsb spec electronics can’t currently talk to the bmw’s electronic vvt (the Suzuki is mechanical), so until they solve that it’s not even in road spec.

Look how well the wsb bmw is doing and that’s only got a stock engine as well

The chassis is great, but the rider has spent 10 years chewing tyres on every bike he rides, that needs to change or he does. Lol

You might want to check Ellison’s results last year in the first round at Donington before suggesting he’s not very good compared to Linfoot. IIRC he got a podium in race 1 and crashed out of the other whilst in the lead. He had 16 points to Linfoot’s 10 after round 1.

I spoke to him last year a few times (and know him and Dean quite well to talk to in the race paddock) and he wasn’t interested in AMA. He was after either WSBK (unlikely) or a WEC ride (possible). He’s doing another year as he felt last year was such a let down that he felt it’s unfinished business. Whether the second bike at Smiths will work is a tough one, as the new S1000RR is having all sorts of manufacturing teething issues. Some teams are reverting to last years bikes.

I don't know if many of you saw the big crash in the Superstock race?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WfFaMSI6jkc

Paul McClung (the one who does the astronaut impression) is from my town and used to play rugby at my club.

He's one of these classic "parents worked every hour god sent and went without to help him get on in racing" stories and has really worked hard to get to this level.
Unfortunately he's now lying in hospital with several bust bones in his back, a broken pelvis, bleeding lungs etc.

He is determined to get back on a bike however, although the bike he was on is totalled (as can only be expected from that kind of crash!).

There is a fundraising page set up for him here:

https://www.gofundme.com/paul-mcclung-crash?utm_so...

As the saying goes, every penny helps!

There was another crash like that on the Saturday with Joe Sheldon-Shaw in the stock 1000. Luckily he was okay, but he went absolutely flying.

That was a savage crash. Just catching up with the last few races.

Is it me or was Ryde taking both feet off the pegs into one of the corners on the last half of the lap?

Props to the guys tipping Bridewell to show well. Love the colour scheme on his bike too - there's something about a not red Ducati race bike.
