Charge the battery or bump/jump the bike.
You need to see what the voltage is with the bike running.
By the way the clicking is the starter solenoid working.
I tried to jump the bike and this happened, no idea what to do now I think I need to get someone who knows what they're doing - https://vimeo.com/370120326You need to see what the voltage is with the bike running.

Managed to get it started by jumping the battery. Need to invest in a new battery any suggestions on the best place to buy?
Spend 30 quid on a oxford optimiser it has a plug you wire to the batt and can keep easy access under passenger seat. This clips into a pack you leave plugged in it measures the batt and only charges when needed.I had one on my cbr600 f sport, my bat was reading 9 once I used that I never had an issue again.
Battery come along with a charger, a cleaning cut for the chain, and a paddock stand for the rear.
Changed the battery today with was really easy and the bike fired up first time. Forgot how good it sounds couldn’t help but pop out for an hour to get over the disappointment of the rugby. I’ve put the old battery on charge but I think I’ll just keep it as a spare .
If the weather isn’t too hideous tomorrow I’m going to have a nice little ride out then treat the bike to a deep clean starting with the chain.

I haven't had many opportunities to ride the bike but managed to get out today for a nice ride along the seafront. I can't wait for the summer so I can get some decent miles under my belt, although we do have a baby due in June so getting out will be more challenging the Mrs is already making noises about me getting rid now I'm going to be a dad, which isn't happened ha!
Thanks to everyone who suggested the bike as a first bike I love it. It looks great, it scares the st out of me when I open her up, it's probably more bike than I'll ever need but the though of a Ducati when I do get a couple of years no claims under my belt is already calling my name.

It's coming up to a year since the anniversary of passing my CBT so I thought I'd post a little update. Still have my faithful 02 CBR and after the battery hiccup at the outset, it's never missed a beat (touch wood). Just sailed through its MOT and I had my local dealer give it a service too and the tyres were 8 years old so I treated her to some new Pirellis on the front and rear.
Still can't believe a bike that looks as good as this can be bought for less than £1500. If anyone is thinking about getting a CBR as their first bike do it it's fast enough to scare the hell out of you but equally competent tottling along on my commute.

Been out on the OHs CBR today, done around 120 miles, ive been riding for a decade or three + and am lucky enough to have a few different bikes to ride but if it came down to it, this is all I need.
Despite all the fancy DDC and electronics on my S1000R, the suspension isnt as good as the CBR, the CBR is also far more stable and trustworthy with none of the flightiness at high speed, its light, nimble and fun.
Cheap-er biking doesnt come much better IMHO
Nice love the colour scheme of your wife’s bike I almost had one those exact colours but turned out it’d been written off when I hpi checked it. Now tell me more about the S1000R the RR is high up on the shopping list once I have a couple of years experience under my belt.

I had a CBR600f (92 model) as my first bike after passing my test. Lovely, easy and quite forgiving to ride. Quick, but like all bikes, only if you ride it that way.
I thought it was a great first bike. Probably the most sensible amongst the similar bikes.
I went on to Fireblades and then S1000rr. No complaints here. But I'd give it a year or two on a 600 first. S1000rr is a great bike, but brutally fast.
Honda 600s are a reasonable choice in my opinion
Yeah I was thinking similar, maybe give it another year or so. I’m yet to jump off the CBR and think it’s lacking speed it still frightens the bee Jesus out of me above 7k rpm I thought it was a great first bike. Probably the most sensible amongst the similar bikes.
