I think this is looking like the front runner 5 star rated and I like the look of it. My local shop has a poor collection and wouldn't entertain the idea of matching the price. My only reservation is the helmet seems quite old the only reviews I can see are from 2016 is that an issue or normal?

I’ve bought from Motocard, they’re in Spain I think but delivery was quicker than a lot of U.K. vendors
That's reassuring and it's quite a bit cheaper

LOVE my old VFR750...

Oddly, Mrs Vince has a CBR600 as well. Of the two I can tell you the height is similar but the VFR feels longer and less agile through the bends, the CBR is a lot more chuckable. VFR is much better built though. In terms of speed the VFR has it on the straight but not by much. The CBR is quicker everywhere else.

CBR for comparison...

Very nice the CBR does it for me I think that's the one, that or a Suzuki GSXR are the front runners at the moment

I also have a big head and agv fit me well.

Sportbikeshop price match apparently, could see if they will against that one.
Already tried they won't because it's not in the UK. What AGV do you have?

Shoei also fit my head so if you find a deal on them might be worth checking, usually more expensive though.
Just popped into my local shop and bought one of these for £215 - https://www.sportsbikeshop.co.uk/motorcycle_parts/...

Nice, that seems a good deal from a local shop. I will likely end up with something similar as I know the AGV ones fit me pretty well.
I tried the K3 and this the K5 and found the K5 to be that little bit more comfortable it's very light too well compared to the ones I've been using at the riding school

MOD 1 practice today at the test centre spent some time on the slow speed maneuvers yesterday and they seem ok. One thing I’m struggling with surprisingly is stopping the bike I keep putting my foot down too early/ or late and looking down. Really need to focus on the today’s head of the actual test on Friday

Passed my Mod 1 today with 1 minor for using the front brake on the figure of 8 (I know I know no idea why I did that either).

To be honest I thought I’d failed made a few daft mistakes left the bike in gear for the manual handling so had to jump back on and put it in neutral. After my figure of 8 I didn’t drive straight to the examiner so I had to do another U turn because I pulled up facing the wrong way. First speed test I was doing 63 so he told me that was a little too quick which I addressed for the swerve to a better 52. There was more which I can’t remember but at least I kept it together as it was far from perfect.

In the warm up ride before I nearly dropped the bike at a very tight uphill junction. Not the best of starts but I’m quite proud of myself for getting on with it and not letting these mistakes put me off.

Dead chuffed I’m off to celebrate by watching Hobbs & Shaw then going to view a CBR 600 and a GSXR both on 02 plates tomorrow morning.

Also been looking at cheap PCP deals on a CB1000R the insurance is cheaper than both the CBR and the GSXR for some crazy reason.

Thanks man it’s a great feeling. I’ve no idea what I’m looking for just yet but the CB1000R is calling my name for £99 a month.

Congrats dude.

Both are excellent bikes but I will leave you with this: I just went out and started Mrs. Vince's bike up after it standing unused in the garage for a year. First time, no issues.
Cheers mate. That’s good to know is it for sale?!

I’m leaning towards the CB1000r+ for £99 a month if I’m honest but maybe that’s a bit mad

Dont recall if it was mentioned already but I would recommend looking into the Yamaha MT-07, would be a great starter bike I reckon, I test drove one recently and will likely get one as my next bike now. The engine is nice and has enough power to have fun but not too much that you are instantly going silly speeds without realising!

Just felt a really nice bike to ride and all reviews seem to agree, although saying that I did get a CRB600rr Hannspree as my first bike after passing my test and loved it! biggrin
Good shout there was one at the test centre today actually that and a couple of SV650. A new MT-07 is £1200 and £75 a month at 4.9% APR. can’t you haggle with bike dealer like cars or not?

OP due to varies reasons I’m selling my current cbr600, not trying to sell it to you as think it’s out of your budget. O can’t help but think how much you get for the money.

I’ve had it 4 yrs and it’s never missed a beat looks good and can be ridden by a novice or a pro and be happy. I’d seriously look at getting a loan between 2 - 3k and look at stuff in that range pref with as many bits like luggage etc as possible. I bet you’d be surprised how much of a clean bike you can find and have very little debt. A lot have done nothing mileage wise for what they could do in reality. Yeah may be a little more to insure at first but that will drop yr on yr.

Jumping in to a brand new one is not the path I’d take when you can get some great stuff and have little debt whilst you start out and see if you like biking.

Just my 2p worth
Good advice mate thanks for sharing I’ve dropped you a PM I’d be interested in more info I could be interested.

I'd second this. Getting into debt on a very fragile depreciating asset for your first bike might not be the best idea. You can get some phenomenal stuff out there second hand for very reasonable money. Remember, the sort of bikes you're interested in don't necessarily have as hard a life as the average car.
My only concern going down this path is finding a decent example. I know very little about bikes, can’t really test ride one to know if it’s a decent example or not so I’m a little exposed in the second hand market

Went to see a CBR600F 02 reg with 41 thousand miles on the clock. Bike looked great but the owner put me off youngish lad who’s tweaked with the bike, some kind or remap, carbon race can, race stickers allover it. Very little service history but it was cheap at £1,600. This has made me very confident I have no idea what I’m looking for so I’m going to ask one of the lads at the riding school to come and have a look with me when I find a bike I’m keen on.

I did sit on the bike for 6 minutes and noticed how much more leaned over it is, I think I’ll need to ride one before I’ll know if it’s for me or not.

1.Most bikes are owned by men in at least high 20’s
2.You find most motorcycle riders have a understanding of mechanics
3.Unless comes across as a nail you’d be unlucky to get a mechanically crap bike expesially if Japanese
4. With regards MOT test on cars they are a bit meh as plastic cover etc can’t be removed to check stuff, however on a motorcycle it’s much easier for a mechanic to check most bearings etc for wear and look at condition of frame.

Honestly a lot of nice bikes are available for 2 - 3 k and I mean really nice. Next to no depreciation, I’d just go and view some and get an idea.
Thanks mate will do I also noticed on a 2k bike I can get 3rd party f&t which is around £2-£300 so that makes things easier for me
