You know that is now really true? Bike prices don't tend to vary that much winter to summer, you sometime get deals around reg changes or if a dealer is trying to shift stock though
I was more thinking private someone who doesn't want to store the bike over winter and puts it up for sale to clear room in the garage. Also trying to find a positive from my failure ha

Been a while since I updated this. Passed my Mod 2 at the second attempt on Friday with 3 minors in awful weather and traffic. Having never ridden for over a month I was a little concerned, that coupled with the fact it was chucking it down and I'd never ridden in the rain made things entertaining.

That said it all went to plan and I thought I'd found a bike on Saturday. A 2002 CBR600 F4i in purple and white with only 26k on the clock. I was ready to hand over the cash when the seller informed me he didn't have the V5 and he's moving to Spain on Friday so won't have time to get a new one. I rang the DVLA who informed me the bike has no registered keeper so if I did buy it and transfer ownership online it would take up to 2 weeks to tax. I was gutted but I decided to walk away and find something else. So the search goes on I'm itching to find something and get out on the open road despite the awful weather.

Been looking at this as it's only up the road from me but it seems expensive for the year - http://mandsmotorcycles.co.uk/product/2005-honda-c...

Congrats on passing, it looks a bit pricey that but it looks very clean and tidy apart from the wky indicators, its the dealer markup I guess, privately it'd be around £2.5k as clean ones hold their value well, now's the time to be buying bikes as the 'season' is pretty much over for most, a lowball offer might help, but I don't think the price is unreasonable from a dealer if you are getting a decent warranty and all the consumables are fresh.
I take it the indicators aren't standard? I might pop in and see it tomorrow see what movement they have on it.

This also looks worth a look about an hour up the road from me - https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Honda-CBR600F-2012-very...

Agree with MTB, and it also looks to me like the 'trailing edge' of the fairing has been scraped.
I'm not sure if that's a scrape or just the light refecting I'll take a look tomorrow.

Scratched bung could be just putting it down on the side in the garage.
I have much smaller (=less high) bungs on my CBR600F4i and I put it down on the side three times, all without sliding.
I touched the fairing a little (tiny scratch), I bent the lever, but the engine cases never touched ground.

Curious, why are mini indicators a problem?
Well for a kick off motorbikes are hard enough to be seen at the best of the time, why people would then put piss poor smaller indicators on it is beyond me.

But mainly because they look fking st, they don't fit the looks of the bike, the quality is pish, the previous owner splices every fking wire trying to fit them because they tend to have the mechanical dexterity of a fish....i could go on.
Went to see the bike it was ok certainly not in perfect condition it does look like it’s been dropped at some point with a few scratches on the fairing as mentioned above. Looks a decent bike but I’m confident I can get better for the cash

Well with a bit of luck today could be the day I get my first bike. Going to see a 2002 CBR F4i with 42k on the clock in red. It’s got a few desirable upgrade such as a gear indicator, power commander, crash bobbins and the only downside for me is a lowered seat.

If it all checks out I’ll be riding it home today, can’t wait. Will update with pics.

How easy is it to source a new seat as padding has been removed from this one for a shorter rider?

As easy as a quick google... ebay special
Cheers. That’s what I keep finding but this one has the 2 separate cushions I can’t find one for some reason.

So to say I'm happy with the bike is an understatement. I've spent the best part of 4 hours playing on it today.

I've been brave enough to take it higher in the rev range on a few occasions, only in first and second gear, but holy hell it's quick, murderously quick, it took my breath away. I can't imagine how a litre bike must feel, this feels like its too quick for the road, hell it's just too quick for me anywhere.

That being said it just as comfortable pottering around in the lower revs it's probably easier and better to ride than the 600s a learnt on. I've spent a lot of time worrying I'm too big for the bike at 6-4, but I'm pleased to say it's very comfortable no issues what so ever, I may be a bit stiff in the morning but we'll see.

I've just tucked it away in the garage for the night I really can't believe how much bike £1200 buys you and how good it looks for a 17-year-old bike. First, mod or mod removal was completed this afternoon to take some ghastly stickers off the bike with the wife's hairdryer. I think I'll take it into my local service centre for the once over I may even treat the old girls to a new chain, sprocket and a service.

Nice bike, I had a 2008 hannspree for my first bike and loved it! Enjoy!

Is the engine kill / stop switch in the correct position?
Yea first thing I checked and made sure it was in neutral. I also took the bike off the stand just in case that had an impact
