I doubt many bikers on here will be watching any F1 stuff.

I watch it periodically if there is not much else on.

You may remember last year the MotoGP race was cancelled completely after awful track conditions caused incidents and the riders basically refused to race on it.

Well they surfaced it again and guys like Danny Ricc are saying it's still very bumpy and the MotoGP riders are not gong to like it?

Question has to be, how hard is it really to make a surface that is not covered in bumps, other tracks can seem to manage it? Why can't Silverstone?

For someone who hates F1 you sure do spend a lot of time talking about it hehe

Ricciardo said it’s a bit bumpy in Brooklands and the rest of the track is good.

Well I am here sat in Club Corner and other than issues with grip that comes with a green track everything appears to be fine. Beckett seemed to be causing problems in FP 1 and 2 bit today they have mastered it.

It didn't look too bad on TV, surprised me when they said they'd made it quite a bit narrower! Apex speeds of those cars is mental!

I generally don’t watch F1 anymore but as it was free to air and the British gp I watched a bit of qualifying and the race. The bumps at Brooklands we’re really obvious watching on Tv and I wondered why they are still having problems

More to the point, why should tracks be like a smooth glass flat surface? Bumps etc are all part of the challenge!

It was cancelled last year after it flooded following constant and torrential rain. It was nothing to do with the bumps. Bumps are part of a circuit. All vehicles create them when braking. You’ll see it on roads at the bottom of steep hills so it’s obvious it’ll happen on tracks with the heavy braking carried out.

Stop bleating about nothing.

Erm, bleating about nothing?

The RIDERS said no last year. That was the point.

If you think those bumps are bad at Silverstone, should see the ones at Bedford Autodrome...

Yes. Bleating.

You’ve made up a situation to suit your scenario. Rain and lack of drainage was the problem last year not the bumps. All tracks have bumps. All riders complain about them. It’s never caused a race to be cancelled but rain has. Like it did last year.

What did they say NO to Chunder ?

Specifically what was the basis for their objection ?

The company laying the new surface said that they were removing the top surface and therefore the old bumps too, and re-laying. He said that running F1 before MotoGP isn't an issue, as the new material would prevent the bumps forming.

I could only picture in my mind, the F1 cars standing on the brakes, in the recent heat, and pushing the tarmac into ridges like a rolling pin.

We'll have to wait until the MotoGP boys get there and see what they say.
