So what's the deal with the tyres? Rossi, Cal and Jack all seemed to have their races hampered by tyre issues early on.
New surface and absolutely unheard of track temps basically....

Mich had to guess what was needed, and how much would you bet on Raceday being 30 plus degrees in the UK ?
How is that different to the rest of the grid? What was the deal with some people having issues and others not so much?

There was a 'harder hard' tyre available if anyone wanted it too, but nobody used it at any point during the weekend.
Different riding styles and/bikes place different demands on the tyres. Some are more able to adapt to a drop in tyre grip too.

The harder tyre was a 'just in case' if the new surface proved to be very abrasive. Think they described it as a 'safety' tyre in the commentary on BT Sport. I don't think Michelin expected anyone to use it really.

Confirmed, Sam Lowes at Marc VDS Moto2 next year alongside Mini-Marquez.

Ironic T-shirt and cap combination.

Isnt his gf a PR girl for VDS?

Something like that.

I hope they've got a large parts budget!

He shouldn't be anywhere near that VDS bike next season and I can't for the life of me work out how he's pulled that off, even if his missus is VDS PR...
I'm sure that had nothing to do with it and they just want someone to throw it at the scenery in every session. biggrin

As he says, he may well go great on it, being that it's obviously a very, very good bike and also team, but even if he wasn't on the best machinery previously, if you can't work out where the limit is and rein it back just enough so you don't keep falling off...

He has only ever had a team mate to work data with once, last year on the undeveloped customer KTM. First year on Speed Up and the other 2 years on Kalex he's had no one to pool data with. It might work, or he might push too hard keeping up with Marquez.

Isn't his riding style going to make that almost impossible though i.e. commentators always bang on about how he likes to slam it down the gears, locking, lifting and sliding the rear into corners?
