This seems to have polarised into two very disparate groups

1. I passed / am doing / have done the IAM stuff and as such am so much better than the rest of you

2. I’ve not done anything, because I don’t need to / want to, as I’m better than the rest of you

To add some balance. I tried to do some training, but decided I couldn’t be arsed, then self taught myself a load of trackday stuff and took a bit of training on that and am now racing. As such I’m better than the lot of you, so stick that in your pipe and smoke it.
haha .. well I highsided my cbr 600 in 2002 and ended up in hospital with a fractured elbow (so thats what broke the screen !)

I sat in the bed and said I need to either give up or get some training.

So got fixed up , did a bike safe and joined the LAM (london IAM group) ... they had a range of observers such that if you were a bit boring you could find a boring one ... if you had a bit of edge you could get an edgie one ..(hello Wookie :-)

...so a few months later I'd read the book .. did loads of riding and passed and got the green badge but took every opportunity I could to broaden my riding

through them I did my first track days and set me on that path of doing track days when money allows
through them I did a ktm adysmith day and set me on a path of doing SEEC enduro

basically thru LAM/IAM I ended up getting an enduro bike and then didnt have time to ride with them but still a remote supporter and would always urge people to give them a chance and certainly my urban enduro commute is with IAM training in the background ... trying to surpress my inner jarvis !!
