The heat doesn't bother me, what bothers me is suddenly everyone and their gran wants to go out on the fking roads when its nice.

The sun seems to bring out the fair, FAIR weather biker tts that overtake on double lines, normally always done two abreast started in 30 zones whilst leaving their indicator on for the next fking dozen junctions before they have a sudden fking epiphany that the flashing green arrow might explain why cars look like they're going to pull out at junctions. Found in packs, trying to one up each other for bragging rights, regaling one another with their various close calls on a run . You know the guys, the ones that show up for their first trackday and think they're fast as fk, you can sense the testosterone in the air. I'm slightly envious of how pumped up they get for a ride out tbh, I couldn't even muster that racing.

I seem to have my best times in the pissing rain.

My problem is that my gear is all waterproof so when it gets to 20 degrees I become a sweaty mess. Even with the vents opened on the jacket its rough. Need to purchase some summer oriented gear for next year.

Exactly that ^^^^
I saw a gaggle of these yesterday riding into a petrol station – a right mix of bikes and abilities.
Two of them nearly dropped their bikes while turning in, followed by a few near misses as they swarmed the pumps.
Still, despite appearing to be completely oblivious to all other road vehicles around them, they seemed to be enjoying themselves….

The weather this year has been st. How anyone can complain now that we get a few days of decent weather is crazy. I’ve managed my 3rd ride of the year on a road bike today, the last one was a ride to and from a roadbike trackday, the one before that sometime in May I think. This year has been a washout, so I’m voting that this is perfect biking weather.
This.

You will never ever see me complain about it being too hot or sunny. I’m from the north west and I can tell you that I am fking sick of rain. I hate it.

This year has been awful - all that seems to be changing climate wise for us is that it’s getting wetter. Much, much wetter.

Currently on holiday in the Ardennes mountain biking. It’s bd mental hot. You won’t see me complaining. I know that I’m going to have to go home to floods.
I think this is a load of rubbish. I'm near Chester and have managed dozens of evenings out this year no bother. I could've done a load more but I can't afford the fuel!

We've had a few washed out weekends, but hardly a complete ruin.

For me yesterday's weather was too hot, but I've only got one set of textiles which aren't well vented. Maybe I'll invest for next year.

Well, it was glorious yesterday.

Today, it's raining (near Bristol).
Then it stopped raining and became glorious again, so I have been bimbling around Wiltshire and South Gloucestershire in the sunshine.

Went to Kent 'Chrome and Cruiser' day today - was pretty good fun and a whole range of bikes out, although it was WAY too warm!

There were also a lot of 'garage queens' out and quite a few chaps who obviously do not ride all too often as some fo the roadcraft leading into and out of the event was shocking. Oh well, back to the commute tomorrow, jsut hope it is a little cooler or I'll be sat at the office a stinky, sweaty mess!

Great weather for it on the south coast right now. Unfortunately, the roads are all too busy with caravans and holiday makers to enjoy rolleyesrolleyes
This. I don't blame people for heading out to enjoy the weather but they sure get in the way...and usually folk who have no idea how to drive outside of their local area. Particularly the elderly, going as slow as a week in the jail on the A29 and not pulled in despite the enormous convoy behind them...

It was too hot for a long day on the green lanes yesterday.

I can ride the road bike in leathers as long as I avoid traffic. Doesn’t take long once the air isn’t flowing to become a sweaty mess.

33 C every day where i ride, it's like everything else Ok if you prepare for it, I ride a water cooled cruiser these days, sit up in the air ok on the legs, armored jeans and ventilated jacket.
I used to have liter sport bike that was hard work in leathers, problem in the UK is it's not worth investing in well made light weight gear for a few days a year.
I have leather box on the luggage rack that is made to take 3 bottles of water.

It was showing 33 degrees on my bikes temp gauge on sunday, even with my jacket half open it was still uncomfortable unless sat at speed.
Had a good ride as I found some new roads around Sleaford way that i'd not ridden before, however I did make two school boy errors.
Somehow managed to end up in the middle of Lincoln, bad, huge mistake I won't be making again, madpunchbangheadsecond one even worse, cut a right hander on a narrow country lane way to close to the white line and had to stand the bike up sharpish to avoid face planting into the oncoming Transit.
Stupid, stupid mistake that I should and do know better to avoid, gave myself a right good and well deserved bking for that.redcard

RST Pro Ventilator jacket I've found to be the answer for the UK. Mesh outer with armour, removable and breathable waterproof liner and a seperate quilted liner. Any combination of the 3 works for the British/Scottish summer. Got one after cooking in 35c in Germany last year, haven't worn the leather jacket on the roads at all this year now. Still wear leather trousers though as I just don't feel protected enough in textiles or denim lowers at entertaining speeds.
