Helmet storage on bike

Hi guys - looking for some advice please.
I currently have a scooter that I use to go to the station every morning. its a Yam X-Max 250
It does the job well. But having not ridden for 15 years, I am getting the bug again!
Basically want to replace it - am between loads of things - BMW 600 scooter - or proper bike. maybe Harley (long term itch) or one of many other bikes.
My issue: I ride every day to the station. I dont want to take my lid on the train with me, hence the storage under the scooter's seat is great to leave it in.
If I buy a bike, eg harley XL 1200 sportster, I will probably chop the rear fender and go Bobber style.... But that leaves me with the problem of what to do with my helmet.
A top box would do - but would look awful. So is there any soft and waterproof type helmet bags atht you would recommend that I could put it in and lock to the bike - so the helmet doesn't get wet etc?
Or does a good one that really is waterproof just not exist ? what do others do?

I used to have a Yamaha XVS950a which had a helmet hook under the seat, so unlock the seat and hook the D rings around the hook and lock seat back again and nobody could easily take the helmet, wouldn't solve the waterproof problem but surely options for that too. Thankfully being in Vienna I rarely needed it 
Don't. Just don't. A cheap, battered-looking scooter with helmet storage is what you need. Anything else WILL eventually get damaged, stolen or both. Avoid the Chinese rubbish with the plastic panel beneath the headlight as they are simple to hotwire in about 20 seconds.
2 bikes is the answer.

Thanks Pothole - and Damn! yes , i am coming round to this fact I think, despite not wanting to. I dont really have the space (my wife wont let me!) have 2 bikes - but think the scooter does make more sense, and gives me better protection from the elements. train station is only one mile away.
This is a case of head over heart I guess!

Good grief man, pushbike for gods sake and be done with it.
You could cycle to the station, park your pushbike and put a lock on it in the time it will take to put your biker gear on.

In bike storage or panniers, nothing else worth the risk IMO, do not chain it to bike and leave on the floor as a dog WILL pee on it (yes been there had that). If you put it high up, chained to saddle, someone will knock it off and damage it or as said it will fill with water if it rains.

Pacsafe made one ages ago which I used for years, unfortunately it was stolen along with my last scooter. I too gave up on station scooters due to theft and have moved on to a lovely Ducati Scrambler which I now lock very securely at the station . I wrote to Pacsafe about their defunct helmet bag and they pointed me at Angrylane who now make them under licence. It took a little while to arrive from the US and it's not quite the quality of the old one, but it does the job very nicely.
