Thanks for the words of wisdom - I bought a BMW C650 GT at the weekend. lovely to ride.... heated seats and grips.
Only downside is its pretty heavy (in comparison to my XMax 250 !) for a one mile commute. But lets see how it goes....
Thanks
I can't believe anyone would buy something with an engine for a 1 mile commute. That's crazy. You could walk it in 20 mins at a gentle pace. Surely it must take at least half that time just to get the bike out, get some gear on, lock it at the other end?

I'd be using a fold up push bike, or a skate board.

I would give a testicle to not need a motorised vehicle for commuting. You could but whatever you want, not need.

I understand the sentiment, but for me time is of the essence. 3 mins from opening garage to standing on platform. to be fair, its probably a little over a mile, so not quite as bad as it sounds.

great work - thanks all....

yeah - I def need a scooter and a bike - but the missus isnt happy that I already have 2 cars and a scooter... getting a 4th vehicle just wont happen...sadly!
Get a new missus, keep the scooter for the commute and get a fun bike for weekends.

Or just man up and get the 2nd bike, she’ll only find something else to moan about.

You’re welcome.

hahha - too true! That made me laugh.
Problem is cars are my bigger passion, and my garage already has a toy - and I dont want to do anything to jeopardise that!

Plus the extra time for putting gear on, taking gear off, locking up bike. At least it's a bike not a car for same trip.
