Just paid the ferry too. Very poor now :-(
You should try living over on the Island then , admittedly the Steam Racket ,(now IOM government owned let's not forget ) flay everyone alive around TT and MGP ,sorry
"Classic TT" dates, but even mid-winter they still charge like wounded rhinos for a
Sailing on their ageing vessels.
They still have ,weather permitting , 2 sailings every day though ,many of them with few
passengers .
It doesn't put people off though. I've often done the Classic as a foot passenger with a pushbike. It can be really cheap then.
This year is my son's first with his own bike. He'll have loads of fun, but I think it might be an end to the TT for me. The Classic is cheaper and the pushbike does me some good.

Im having to cancel my ferry booking this year, unless anyone is interested in taking it off me (not paid yet), car and 5 people, going over

I beg to disagree about the prices discouraging visitors , every year there are people who ,
after attending and staying in the same accommodation for many TT's fail to return quoting
rip off ferry prices .
When my wife and I rebooked a DFDS ferry after change of plans 8euros, the Steam Packet £52 !, both of the crossings for same vehicle 24 hrs apart during the off season , both of the boats nearly empty.

I was chatting to a mate about going for race week in 2021, taking a Renault Trafic, 3 blokes, with 3 trail bikes in the back.HEYSHAM to DOUGLAS

What is the ferry likely to cost for a van? (if we can get a booking, seems we'll have to do it by phone not online)
Im fairly sure a van with 3 people would be cheaper than 3 people with bikes, I looked into doing the same thing a few years ago and worked out 3 bikes in a mwb van was a little bit cheaper than taking 3 bikes/riders, wasn't much in it though. Of that £905 for car and 5 people, it was roughly £500 for car and driver and £400 for the 4 passengers. I did the same 2 years ago for about £100 less.
Mine is £538 for car and trailer. Plus another & £111 for my son., so that's the current passenger rate. Add another £36 for premium lounge on the way back (kip needed) and that's £685 to you!
Edit to add, a mate is £251 for rider and bike. So it would be cheaper to go as 2 bikes. But taking the car gives you the option of taking so much more gear and more versatility when you're there. And saves on postage of gear costs.

Anyone remember when the TT was cancelled for foot and mouth, 2001?
Serious disease but mostly only affecting livestock. I'd not at all be surprised if the TT is a casualty of the Covid scare this year? We're only 3 months away. Can the world shift it before then?
The problem is the TT itself brings a great deal of pressure on the Island's medical facilities anyway, mainly trauma etc, but adding 50k visitors to a population of 85k or so is a big ask.
Based on the 2001 decision with F&M, I'm thinking it sadly may not happen this year.
