Any tips for MOD2 in the rain……..
Assume increase stopping distances with the car in front. What about general speed?
All I know is I’m 20/30/40mph zones if you’re safe to be at those limits then do them: by safe I mean as long as there are no obvious hazards around. Assume increase stopping distances with the car in front. What about general speed?
Examiners hate hanging around pointlessly.
Now if you’re on a 50 zone or national speed limit then feel free to go 10% lower to stay comfortable. But again if it’s completely clear straight road then ideally you’d touch the limit to show you can.
Good luck

That looks lovely. How are you finding the bike?
It's brilliant, I love it. I learnt on an MT-07 and this just feels like a step on in every way - more powerful, better handling, incredibly responsive and chuckable, better sounding...the triple exhaust note at WOT is lovely! I guess the MT-07 was marginally more comfortable due to the slightly more relaxed seating position, but this hasn't caused any issues on longer rides.

IMO great 1st bigish bike, ive had an RX for 18 months and its been a great fun bike, dunt think the R has a quickshifter but if not i would get one... so fun! now waiting for my new to me speed triple R to be serviced before i can pick it up!
Agreed, it has more than enough power for me at the moment - I'm at the "why would I ever want or need more?!" stage but I'm well aware that will probably change. No quickshifter on mine, I think I'll have to try one out as I'm in two minds - I enjoy the process of changing gear.
Enjoy your speed triple R!

My test was torrential rain.Assume increase stopping distances with the car in front. What about general speed?
Avoid man hole covers, even your boots can slip on them when you stop (why didn’t they make them high grip?)
As poster above says, still accelerate to the speed limit as soon as you go through to show you are aware, if you need to then slow down after.
I was told to double the gap to the car in front ‘only a fold breaks the 2 second rule" x2
Good luck

Had my mod 2 in the rain.Assume increase stopping distances with the car in front. What about general speed?
Ride smoothly, keep 4 seconds back from other vehicles, turn head to one side to clear visor in rain, don't worry about falling over on corners - tyres are good - but watch out for overbanding on roundabouts (I hit a patch and bike squirmed a bit which wasn't pleasant)
Speed wise I find a lot of car drivers slow down in the rain so it's the old make progress
Good Luck

Picked this up last month after passing my MOD 2 in June. Keen eyes will notice the lowered rear drop link, now put back to standard.
Arrow can sounds great; it's a blast!
Hi the drop link lowering is new to me. Will you need to also adjust the front shocks to align properly (as described on this installation instruction) ?Arrow can sounds great; it's a blast!
Thanks all. Well I past first time at Burton this morning. Horrible weather! Thought I’d messed up a few times. Stalled once doing the angled start behind a parked car, and the front wheel slipped on a man hole cover, but rescued that without breaking my leg. It’s also true what most have said about the examiners not being tyrants! I had an indicator error at a roundabout. He said should have been a major, but as there were no cars around……

Certainly has been. Just got in before my CBT ran out. So two years, but I did have mitral valve surgery in the interim. That was in-fact a year ago to the day. Gassing Station | Biker Banter | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
