I don't think Ducati have screwed themselves this year: I think they screwed themselves dropping Lorenzo and that looks like something they can't row back on, nor do I think they should. If they were looking to the junior classes they should try to get their claws into Jorge Martin and possibly Aaron Canet. They need someone hungry on that bike, someone capable of teaching Dovi a few things and I'm not sure there's anyone in MotoGP, available.

Pretty sure Martin will be in Orange in his future. Canet is a possibility though.....

You'd think that, but there's abit of an orange road block in front of him, and let's face it, red bikes are faster (just now); I have no idea of contract details but would be surprised if Martin had a contract promising him a GP ride for '21, or preventing him from taking one.

Im quietly excited by M2 this year, it looks like the gang of M3 guys that came up may have found what they need - so we could get M3 racing on bigger and faster bikes... win win

M3 still best class though.....top 16 within a second....I love it.

I bet they are a scream to ride as well.

Jack Miller has signed for the factory Ducati team for 2021 and Petrucci's manager has said that it is him that is being dropped. He also said that he is talking to Aprillia and that a world superbike seat at Aruba Ducati is also a possibility.

Seems inevitable he'll end up in MOTOGP doesn't it? Seriously talented.
Interestingly his agent said recently that they had a MOTOGP offer for 2020 from a good team but they opted to stay and try and win the superbike championship first.

Have to imagine that offer was from Tech3 Ktm, given the links with his manager and red bull. I would think they will be holding out for an offer from one of the top 4 manufacturers.

Crazy isn't it? Last post in this thread before today was in February.

Hopefully we'll see some racing at the end of July. KTM are actually testing today at the Red Bull ring which is really encouraging.

Hope you've all stayed safe and sane through these crazy few months guys!

Either of the current riders could be out, moved (Petrucci) or even retirement for Dovi.

I watched the RedBull documentary about Jack the other day. Very interesting and wish him well.

As a South African i'm really hoping my man Brad Binder does well!

I wish bsb would announce something.

Brit touring cars and gt have released there calendars so they know when the tracks are unavailable.

There's been public friction between Dovi and Gigi about Dovi not getting the bike he wants. Equally, the factory can't really help but be disappointed with Petrucci's terrible run of form after his win in Mugello. As it stands, there's nobody available that is going to be definitely better than Dovi on that bike that's available - and the Dovi/Ducati combination is clearly much better than anything bar the MM/Honda out there.

If dovi is the best available then be brave and take a gamble on younger cheaper riders instead of a average journeyman

I have to admit to being surprised by how little I've missed the racing...

I'd argue they're already doing that with Miller. One fortunate win in how many years? Still a crasher, but beloved of the media because he's an Aussie and swears a bit. Dovi is a lot better than an average journeyman (Aleix Espagaro, Bradley Smith or Tito Rabat being examples of those) and will still win races this year. The Italian on a Ducati worrying about a P45 shouldn't Dovi but Bagnaia.
