Good to read that my memory did not fail me - quite a surprise considering the amount of strange smoke coming out of my tent at those times.
I have seen lots and lots of custom bikes, H-D and others, live and in magazines / videos,
but yours was such a bold statement and engineered so well it earned a place in my memory.
What is the weight of the bike now ? Do you have a (daytime) MOT and plate or is it track-only ?
Those tracks I never heard of before, they may not be of Avon or Pod quality but be greatful that they exist,
and give a playground for bigger toys, in Germany we were somehow a bit short of functioning small airfields after WW2.
Sorry for going a little O/T, but glad that the world is a small village somtimes.
I'm glad to hear you remember the bike for all the right reasons! I haven't got an accurate weight for it as it stands - I'd guess it to be about 140 kg though. I used to have an MOT on it (both night and day), but not any more - in it's current form it does less than 5 miles per gallon; with a one gallon fuel tank and the nearest filling station being 11 miles away, it doesn't take a genius to see that the numbers don't quite add up!

The tracks I mentioned are in the southwest corner of the UK - if you've ever seen the film 'Band of Brothers', Smeatharpe is the airfield that Easy Company flew out of on D-Day (although it was then called 'RAF Upottery', named after the nearest village) - more info here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RAF_Upottery.

Weston Zoyland was also a WW2 airfield - see here for more info: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RAF_Weston_Zoyland

This is the other way round: Brit engineering/US style.

hehe

Just look at the state of it, the seat, the rear subframe, the stupid tyres, the silly front and rear mudguards, the grips, the rear indicators and their wiring, its a lesson in how to completely ruin an average bike, its complete dogst.

To be fair Dave, as you know, there's very few tyre road legal choices which offer such low levels of grip, increased stopping distances, and shoulders which cause an unbalanced feeling during turning, and can still hold a premium price tag.

I'm curious if there actually is a lower performing legal tyre choice.

Certainly makes a statement. Perhaps when I go running next I'll wear snow boots, that'll show everyone how cool I am.
