RGV250 that is about to go up for sale on an auction site in California. I'm thinking of hiding under my bed with no internet until after the auction has ended and I have missed out on it.

If you want to permanently raise your must-have-another-bike anxiety levels, see here.

really?
why?

As owner of 2017 GSXR1000R, which I am fond of, in 2020 I would rather look at BMW S1000RR M, tbh.
£15k v £19k. The BMW may be a better bike, but in my experience the attitude of the Motorrad sales people stinks.

you mean sales people or owners?

Our BMW sales point is great, I never bought anything there, but had a ton of test rides on all kind of stuff, and they remember me by name and seem to be totally fine with me coming over asking for test rides :-)

I do not care about the BMW owners, they are mostly GS riders, I do not ride these kind of bikes anyway. :-)

I am AGAIN tempted by Street Triple RS.

Somehow I feel like I should get a (my first) naked.

Apparently the latest model (2019) has been updated with 9% more power and torque in mid-range. It also looks better than the first 765 version.

I have to test ride one!
Tomorrow I do that.

But Speed Triple RS is also nice, as I remember it, very macho and full of torque.
But those 25kg extra mass compared to the nimble Street RS, 217kg wet, going down tight steep hairpins...
And most of that power will be unused ( in Switzerland where I am at).

If I get a naked I will have to get rid of Daytona 675. I am so so torn. Can't decide, Daytona is so sweet. frown

What I said, sales people. They're your new best friend, until they've got your money...

I tried for 2 months to get one to take my money... eventually bought through a Motorrad dealer 400kms away.

I saw an X-ADV for the first time last week, and think I’ll buy one.

I’m also tempted to swap my 1200 GS for a new 1250 Rallye.

Catch them at the end of the 3rd quarter, when they haven't quite made target. Haggle 10% off, and see how stty their attitude is when you turn up for the annual service. Despite that enquired twice about buying another new one, the attitude continued.

BMW SA has implemented an online sales system, so the dealer is nothing more than an agent. Zero discounts available and you get to chose from the bikes listed on the site as that's a live inventory. I think this has irked many of the dealers as extras and such are their only avenue for price manipultion.
But, given a full spec TE is the equivalent of 12k GBP i'm not overly worried. But just disappointed at the lack of enthusiasm to make a sale....

Sold my HP4 early this year. Haven't bought anything else yet. Not sure what I want to be honest. Have thought about the following;

1. Early Fireblade. Anything 1997 or earlier. Naturally the very first bikes from 1992/3 command strong money
2. Suzuki GSX-R 1000 K5/K6/K7/K8. Have owned a K5 and K7 before, so a known quantity.
3. Ducati Hypermotard Evo. Never owned a Ducati, but quite fancy one of these. Might get bored too quickly?
4. Wait for a bit and save up for a Ducati V4 Speciale or similar.

In reality, there's too much choice and many good bikes about these days. Perhaps the answer is more than one bike?!

A prewar International Norton is top of my wish list at the moment and is an itch that needs scratching at some point!

There's a project coming up in an auction soon but I haven't got myself organised enough to sort it out yet which is annoying. I know that when I am in a position to get one there won't be any about hehe

My Dad had a Norton International back in about 1968.

His was post war, I think. And was a bit of a lash up, with those forks.

Look at those bloody clip ons! At least you could rest your chin on the steering damper.

Wonder if it is still around?

It's on the DVLA database, but that doesn't mean much.

First registered 1948.

The internet tells me that Roadholder forks are correct for a post-war Inter.

Clip-ons dropped like that suggest sprinting to me.

Pretty much the message I got when I rang them last week. Take it or leave it basically. So I invited them to match the £15k I could buy the Suzuki RR for biggrin

I think in SA it's more a case of couldn't rather than wouldn't.

A friend put me onto a friend of his who's a Motorrad dealer principle who I bought the bike through and he clearly has his hands tied by the BMW mothership with the agent based sales model. Can't do anything about the bike pricing but has some wriggle room on extras etc.

Z1000R Performance... wanted one for ages and planned on a 2021 model, but it seems Kawasaki are deleting the model thanks to COVID manufacturing re-setting ... plus the line between the Z900 and ZH2 is too close to justify marketing all three models. I did try a Z900, but it felt very lightweight and tinny compared to my current Z1000, and I just want an old school (non-supercharged) thou to see me out!

Picking up what could be the last one in the UK on Tuesday on a ‘70’ and can’t blooming wait!

(NB Akro’s and other goodies will be fitted!)
