Shouldn't some motorcycle covers come with a health warning?

210D Cloth, used on a certain motorcycle cover, sold by a well know motorcycle accessories company, is on the Proposition 65 Warnings Website (CA). the warnings are for cancer and reproduction.

If you think Coke does not taste the same as it used to.....It doesn't because California told them to put a "causes Cancer" warning on the bottle so they changed the formula. Same at Pepsi. I worked with a company close to this and they said the quantities required to cause cancer in mice was the equivalent of drinking a swimming pool of beverage everyday. It was not possible consume sufficient quantity and therefore not possible to get cancer other than in theory.

As Coca Cola and Pepsi are both made locally and not imported, they don't have to put on californian carcinogen warnings, and haven't changed the recipe to suit. The recipe already varies for different markets depending on the local legislation and tastes.

It's as likely your taste has changed than the taste of Coke / Pepsi.

Ahhh, I did miss part of the puzzle. In California, Coke would have to label their product as carcinogenic if they didn’t change their recipe. They didnt want to do that because it would require a production specifically for California and would not look good to the rest of the world. Instead, they changed their recipe for the US market with out publishing it. This was at the same time Pepsi brought out a “New Pepsi” because they thought their consumers would be able to tell the difference.

I assumed this change of recipe impacted all countries but may not have done. Having said that, you are right that the sugars are sourced locally with the exception of Japan.

I worked with the companies on this change.

The rest of the world has better things to do with its time than worry about infinitesimally small cancer risks.

Unless you're into cannibalism and by the 100th generation the cancer risk may be getting to be significant...

Exactly, everything can apparently cause cancer in California. The problem is California.
