Being in a factory team isn't the pinnacle it used to be , look at Yamaha all that experience and there being embarrassed by Petronas.
True, but the fact remains that a manufacturer has chosen him, over all others.

That means that people with vastly more experience and vastly better eyes for talent than the rest of us have decided that he has what's required. At the moment he's coming up decidedly short.
To be fair they also kept Rossi on and Ducati stuck with the same old dovi / petrucci combination whereas suzuki gambled on younger riders.

All experienced teams yet ones done a lot better than the other two .

Like i said up against these young riders rins, mir, alex m , quattararo , bagnaia he is .

Just to clarify im not saying he's st just this year the game has moved on .

He's had a awesome career but it can't last forever just to tick the British rider box

And he didn’t finish higher, or out qualify any on that list?

I’m not saying he’s not at the end of his GP career but he’s a fking good rider and hard as nails.

I agree .

Things have moved on though and teams are gambling on younger riders again .

He's had a good career but its time to move on partly due to its better to get out when your still healthyish and more importantly none of the teams have wanted to sign him.

Aren't the satellite bikes mechanically the same as the works team bikes without the full manufacturer support or updates through the year? (although updates aren't probably much this year).
Yes, here you go, here is the bike, you go and put it on the front row.

What makes a factory team, a factory team, is the amount of people you have on hand for everything. Data guys, suspension guys , chassis data guys.

LCR wont have that , they have a guy that tested for HRC who knows the bike, and a few guys doing the whole lot across both bikes. ( i saw somewhere they had 3 guys across 2 bikes).

These arent race engineer/ crew chief or bolty types. but data engineers who just crunch the numbers, and try and get to where they need to be.

Now sometimes, having 'less cooks' can focus the mind on less things and get you further faster than looking at everything in minute detail.

But then being the underdog gives you a little more freedom in that regard, no?

You make me laugh. You seem to like moaning about others moaning.

Vinales didn't get slaughtered for going backwards due to a slipping clutch. He got slaughtered UNTIL it was discovered it was a clutch problem at which point people went "fair enough" and as has been mentioned, he was the next big thing on a factory bike in a factory TEAM with all the expertise and personnel that entails. THAT'S why he gets ripped.

As for the lack of race wins, in THIS season it's not really a surprise. This year is without precedent in every way.

I just think it’s funny the way some on here slate riders for virtually nothing and let others get away with the same actions, even defending them. You all seem to like a pantomime villain. Pol was it for a while and then Vinales. Then you all massively overreact to one good race by someone (Binder). It was great when he won, but the KTM has struggled since yet you were all laughing at Pol having moved to Repsol at the wrong time.

If ever there was a season to register a win then this is it. No Marc Marquez means everyone has a chance. Mir has been the most consistent but he needs wins or I think a championship could be slightly tarnished. People are still split over Hayden’s title (at least they were up to his sad demise) where he barely led a lap in the whole season.

Not me. I thought it was a crappy way to win a championship. But it was just a regular season and win it he did so...

This season is insane so I couldn't care less if the eventual winner doesn't win a single race.

Well if he's happy I'm happy, shame a decent Moto2 offer hasn't been made. Petronas are going to have one hell of a Moto3 team next year, surely the title beckons?

It was supposed to beckon for him this year too but he's definitely making hard work of it...

I needs to understand what it takes to win the series, and that is to take good points at every race.

I was meaning more for the team with that pair of riders, surely one of them has to do it! John has had some st luck and an oops moment but Arenas isn't plain sailing either.

Anyway, 8 premiere class winners so far this year, 9 looks on the cards, chances of 10?

That was when he tried it on Rins, had no trouble when he did it to Mir a few laps earlier.

He was quite impressive how he stood it up on the centre of the tyre out of the slow corners. Seems to have started to understand it better.

Marc at home watching his brother https://twitter.com/marcmarquez93/status/131785490...

That right arm doesn't look right yet, he's resting it and moving his left arm around more.

And crasher Alex from the junior classes has finished every race this year. Only him and Nakagami have done that. Honda's eh?

I really enjoyed watching the highlights!

Hats off to A Marquez for getting on the podium again - very impressive.

And thankfully Cal stayed on his bike this time.

Next season is looking really promising!
