Lol, didn’t say I can’t ride it ! I probably will ride it eventually but initially I’m sure I’ll be sat in front of it with a glass of jd & coke admiring the art .....

I know this bike is very special and everything but I still want to know what that R7 is like?, a bit let down compared to most modern stuff I imagine but there’s something about them and the RC45s that has always made me want one!, think memories of seeing Nori Haga racing one in WSB back in the day might have been part of it.

There was a guy who used to post on PH (not sure if he still does) who had a big fleet of cars and bikes. Really exotic stuff from memory (F40 etc). He had an R7. I think he used it mainly on track. From memory he said it was one of his favourites.

The R7 is a cracking bike but to be honest I haven't done many miles on it at all so not really qualified to say what its like.
It only has 1100 miles on it from brand new back in 2001.....

What a thing. I’d get a window into the garage from the house and part it there for all to admire.

There was someone on here had a R7 on track a few years back. Was it you?

Tony, other than running the engines every now and again, what else do you have to do to ensure that stuff doesn't degrade over time? I imagine fluids need changing, and maybe seals/gaskets too?

I spray my bikes with acf50 to stop them degrading and they are also serviced every year regardless whether they need it or not and all serviceable items are changed then if they need them.

You cant apply logic to ownership with drastically different financial backgrounds, Fair play Tony living the dream indeed.
My motto is one payday away from bankruptcy. A few cans of piss water Fosters keeps me going though. Roll on that lottery win frown

To those criticising TonyF for not using it like an everyday bike, think of it this way- just because you can afford to invest in one doesn't mean you want to destroy its whole value.

Take a 1299 Superleggera for example - new the list was £72k. An unregistered one today is £65-75k, with 200 miles they're < £60k, and with a couple of thousand miles they're mid-40s. If you pay list and use it for a couple of summers that means you've spent getting on for 30 grand in depreciation. That needs very deep pockets to stomach.

Gorgeous! What a thing to have! Even though you’re not planning on riding it, I bet you can hardly wait til you get it!
How much different are these to the v4R? Are they 100k? If so, I know investment and all that, but are these 65k more trick than the v4R?
I always thought the V4R was a bit of a bargain tbh.
But that’s a proper bit of kit. Enjoy, Tony!

With the greatest of respect Tony, if you're gonna sit and admire it rather than riding, the least you can do is swap the JD for a decent single malt wink

Absolutely fantastic thing to be getting your hands on, enjoybiggrin

Paul,
Counting down the days !
Considered the V4R before committing to the Superleggera. Is it 65k more bike ? not entirely sure apart from its predominantly all carbon fibre frame, swing arm etc etc, wheels, bodywork and there is only 500 being produced was enough for me to invest in one.
