With the greatest of respect Tony, if you're gonna sit and admire it rather than riding, the least you can do is swap the JD for a decent single malt
Absolutely fantastic thing to be getting your hands on, enjoy
I will take your advice and source a nice single malt !Absolutely fantastic thing to be getting your hands on, enjoy
Thankyou.

Paul,
Counting down the days !
Considered the V4R before committing to the Superleggera. Is it 65k more bike ? not entirely sure apart from its predominantly all carbon fibre frame, swing arm etc etc, wheels, bodywork and there is only 500 being produced was enough for me to invest in one.
I have a fair few bikes, not as fancy as yours, but people forget that many if not most of us, get as much if not more pleasure from "owning" a motorbike as we do riding them. Counting down the days !

I remember seeing my first R1M at a dealer launch and it blew my brain a bit! Half the wires, and sensors i could see, i could not even work out what they were there for! Could have sat and looked at it, taken bits off it and looked again, for weeks and weeks!
And in these stty times for us all, what a thing to be able to look forward too, getting hold of that!!
fking magnificent!!

There was a guy who used to post on PH (not sure if he still does) who had a big fleet of cars and bikes. Really exotic stuff from memory (F40 etc). He had an R7. I think he used it mainly on track. From memory he said it was one of his favourites.
An F40 and an R7?!, lucky man!.Walter Sobchak said:

Some race versions of the R1 look awesome but the lesser tweaked ones and road bikes look desperate for tidying up.

Ironically my least favourite bit of the latest R1 is the utter dogst explosion of wiring & ABS pipes mess mainly above the right hand rearset. Some race versions of the R1 look awesome but the lesser tweaked ones and road bikes look desperate for tidying up.

Yes it’s not pretty. But I could not help looking at it thinking wtf does that do!? Some race versions of the R1 look awesome but the lesser tweaked ones and road bikes look desperate for tidying up.

Exciting times! Look forward to the pics!!
What’s the hand over like with this bike? Is it made a bit more special then the typical handover you get at the local dealers?
My dealer did mention something a bit special come delivery day but didn’t say much more at this stage apart from it will include lunch somewhere nice....What’s the hand over like with this bike? Is it made a bit more special then the typical handover you get at the local dealers?

Ooft. Just in time for lockdown to end. What a treat.
Can’t wait to see it, have you got any plans to do a full ‘fleet’ picture? Superleg and F40 side by side would be a sight to behold.
I could take some photos of some other of my Ducati’s along side the Superleggera but I don’t own an F40 ( I wish ! ) think that was mentioned earlier but owned by another member...Can’t wait to see it, have you got any plans to do a full ‘fleet’ picture? Sorry for a very long thread resurrection. Been reading a lot about SLs and must have missed this at the time.
Lovely, lovely bike mate. Hope you’re enjoying it.
I’ve seen a couple come up for sale over the last year or so. All at full list and all unridden so clearly your decision to keep yours off the road appears to have been sensible.
I wonder, were you tempted to have bought 2? One to ride and one to keep?

I really hate this thinking, what's the point of a car or bike you don't ride? Just keeps them out of the hands of those that do want to use them, its getting like the Porsche GT3 market.Gassing Station | Biker Banter | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
