I don't know about anyone else but it seems not being able to hang out with like minded bikers and bore them with what jobs I'm doing on my bikes is getting a bit boring.

So tell us or show us what you're up to in this thread!

My Aprilia RSVR has the following jobs upcoming in the next week or two
- fit brembo monobloc calipers
- fit rsv4 rearsets and brake MC (gives you a working rear brake supposedly)
- fit carbon swingarm guards
- possibly get the rear fairing painted as it's got a big gouge in it

My Honda CG125 is just a matter of changing tyres over so I can get it MOT'd - went OK until I pinched a tube irked

My Yamaha R1
- service it, tidy it up and get it ready for a blast on track this year all being well

My Honda MT50
- rebuild the C90 engine that's going into it... I built the gearbox up wrong the first time round so its a strip and redo it jobby
- clean up the tank
- possibly change tyres over
- sort the brakes out
- get it ready for a daytime MOT

Over to you, what are you tinkering with at the moment?
Hi I’m looking at putting a c90 engine into a mt50 do you have any pictures of completed just wanted to see what sort of bracket you made for it to fit

bought on of these to try and get my camera above the screen (and stop it recording my speedo...) but found, after having dropped a screw which bounced into the gap between saddle and tank, then evaded capture to slide inside the side panel, that it's too big for my handlebars despite the description of the one I bought saying it'd grip them just fine!

back to the drawing board...Might have to splash out for a long Ram ball mount adapter after all.

Now you've done it, you'll go to hell for that. You must not know that Pothole is PH BB's spzaeling constable.

I can live with that.

I might buy on of those Camelbak things to keep me hydrated down there.

Just use a 'mask' in your video editing, you can then blur the speedo out, which is useful, or fit one of these under the mirror stem

I can't seem to find the "ask a silly question" thread, I know there is one somewhere :/

So I'll ask here, does anyone know if this is ok to spray in areas where it get on rubber seals/ o-rings etc? it won't ruin them will it?

thank you

Hi Big Rick

Apologies only just saw your post now!

Yes got a fair few pics I'm sure but will have to dig through the archives and I can get some of the brackets we welded in. I'll try and get some stuff sorted and PM you

I would use it to clean, for instance, the side links on a chain but not to lube it , neither would I use it to clean inside a brake caliper but I use GT85 everywhere else..

This last couple of weeks ive been doing up another "pre loved" Raleigh Chopper which has sat for many years in an environment not very kind to it, tried the stuff I used in the fuel tank of the YSR (vaporust) on some of the more tarnished/rusted parts and well... its done a great job, worth remembering if you have a similar problem..and the stuff re-usable. Have some rusty old spanners sitting in it now!

I finished the Chopper over the weekend...came out really well, owner was very pleased with it...He dropped me off another box of bits which contains a dismantled Raleigh Burner, looking forward to getting some bunny hops in when I have that on its wheels...

Thanks.
Cool I won’t sweat over it then. Wanted the spray it on to clean various bits and bobs then wipe the excess away

That’s tomorrow’s job sorted

Achieved some welding on the bike on Sunday. Cut the end of the subframe off, cut a chunk off and welded it on top of the remaining bit as an overlap to shorten it a bit (while keeping the rear light. Looks crap, but it's just about figuring stuff out and bodging things with whatever I can cobble out of scrap and other bits I cut off. Haven't a clue what I'm doing, but never will unless I play.

Fitted the new battery and she lives to terrorise the neighbourhood for another summer

a job that fought me every inch of the way ..... must have been a good hour and half, The highlights being the new lithium battery being maybe 3mm wider and needing 3 hands to move/hold the harness whilst wedging the battery into its housing, and once slotted and all fastened in following a congratulatory cuppa dropping the seat screw housing and it finding it's way under the battery in the void created (as lithium batteries are smaller they have legs to match a std height) resulting in completing the who job again

I've recently got a Drift Ghost camera to start a bit of vlogging and makle a record of my upcoming trip to Mandello Del Lario for the Guzzi centenenary, but I found the spot I mounted it on the bars meant it showed a section of my speedo which could be used in evidence against me...I had previously seen these bicycle accessory bars on Amazon etc. so I ordered one. After a bit of fiddling it works really well: ETA: and I clearly forgot having posted about it earlier...

I've moved the camera more upright and it shoots over the screen now.

It's finally warm enough here to start tinkering.

New tyre(s) for the dirtbikes.

Bridgestone Battlecross X30 for me, and moved my 1 season old Dunlop AT81 to my son's bike, to replace his perished front tyre.

And put in some HD innertubes.

My hands and shoulders still ache, my god what a job... Had to order some better Motion Pro spoons in the end as my tyre irons were st. They made the job much easier.

Kitchen table tinkering hehe

The full size bikes are pretty much sorted so not a lot to do in the garage. Will give the Venom a service before we start using it again but won’t bother until nearer the time.

Been enjoying model making during lockdown, quite fun learning airbrushing and stuff smile

Rebuilt rear calliper with new seals etc. Bit cold in the garage so thought the kitchen would be more comfortable! Both master cylinders and front callipers next, then need to sort out some new indicators and mot it ready for April.

Thanks mate. It’s just the £20 Tamiya 1/12 kit plus a load of time. I’ve run out of red paint now so can’t paint the fairing until the model shops open!

Kind of wish I’d painted the white number boards and bought the Termi decals now though.

It’s kept me amused and it gets a bit addictive trying to make bits as realistic as possible!
