Not quite a 125 but the riding experience is just as frenetic..

Currently re-commissioning my 'lil RS toofiddy track bike. Been sat ignored for a few years and time & circumstance has conspired to drag it out the back of the storage unit for some fettling....

We have history, me and her... I have shiny titanium parts in me thanks to her bad behaviour... Can't hold a grudge though...

What's your penchant for butt plugs got to do with the bike?

I'd love to see some pictures of your collection!

I too love those 125 two-strokes. I was 16 in 1996 and was desperate for an RS125 or Mito, but couldn't afford either!

Someone at the sixth form part of the school I went to had an RG125 (the last version, blue and white and the mini RGV250) which was the best thing I'd ever seen hehe

I did eventually get an RS250, but still look longingly at the last of the 125s and think one day I should scratch the itch! There was some amazing Italian market only 125s from what I remember. What was the hub-centre steering one? Think it was either an Aprilia or a Cagiva...
I find it hard to post photos on here, maybe i will start a separate thread on them, most of the bikes are complete but require some restoration, But i also have a few brand new ones, my favorite one is a Gilera SP02

The RG125 would have been a RG125 FUN, i have one on the same colors, its a nice looking bike.

I have a Mk1 RS250 but that needs a restoration, The Hub center one i think you are talking about the Gilera CX125 ? This has a single front fork leg with some links down the the front wheel. Quite a futuristic looking bike i also have one smile

After the clusterfk that is the DVLA deprived me of my Motorcycle entitlement, I was forced back onto L plates.

Bought a couple of 125's to get to work on - Honda Cityfly 125 which was too slow for the Sheffield Parkway, so replaced with this

TDR125 in derestricted form, for maximum 2 smoke glory. Yes, it was no 600 but surprisingly nippy and could show a ton on the speedo.

So almost learner legal, not that it mattered as I could never stomach doing a CBT coming from proper bikes.

A lot of my injuries have been on 2 strokes.

Yes, it was the Gilera CX125. I took one for a bit of a squirt back in the day. Oh it was ace. super light in weight, all mechanical, beautifully crisp feel to that engine, ace noise, lovely smell. It had a decal proudly proclaiming that it had "Integrated Security System" which was just that the ignition, petrol cap and rear seat storage key were the same...

125's like them are a blast. CX125's are extremely rare. I'd happily have an early twin headlight Mito - zing!!

I've always been a bit fascinated by the CX. Idly googling, I came across this colour scheme which I've never seen before. Much want, but might have to make the wheels goldish to match that body panel

Ummm I went back to a 125, but I shoehorned a 110hp 443cc banshee engine in, does that count? biggrin

That will have some PTW ratio, then! Lovely! What does, or did it weigh?
About the closest i can offer to that is (about 8 years ago) i bought a fairly scruffy, much tracked and abused, but with a peach of an engine, 2010 Yamaha R6, which had long since stopped being properly road legal. Well it had a daytime MOT which probably involved a few lagers to get hold of! Stripped of anything it did not absolutely need. 145 kgs on the scales.
It had been tuned for the track, normal stuff, hot cams, head work, race system from the exhaust ports backwards and the air box and ECU modified. The power wasn't that much higher than stock really at 137 bhp, but the top end power was sensational. I had to give it a whole heap of new stuff when i bought it, like chain, sprockets, tyres, paid the dent repair man a few quid too, but it was a total loon to ride. Pretty much the thick end of feck all below 5,000 rpm, then a crazy race to change gear in time.
It didn't have that amazing Banshee wail the Yamaha 2 stroke engines had though! I've ridden a few off road bikes in the states with that motor, albeit they had about 85 bhp.
110 bhp from 443 cc must be insane to ride. Light switch on off throttle?

From memory it was about 120kg. I sold it a few years back to generate some funds to go racing. I know where it is though. If I was doing one again I would build a power valved one and slightly smaller carbs. This thing basically had drag racing cylinders, no power valves and 38mm flat slides and was a bit all or nothing... As you'd expect biggrin

I think that bike with about 90 bhp and a wider power band would be the ideal track day and sunny road day sports bike.
Unless the roads were very straight and long nothing would pass you!
