Electric mega sports bikes?

Well that shows that you seriously haven't got a clue! Wherever you work. I am a boat restorer by trade including the engines and my father was an Aston Martin mechanic for 20 years. So what?
If you actually believe that and are not being silly for the sake of it!
A Velocette is about as useful a road bike as a Sinclair C5. Soul? Do me a favour. I had a CBX and they have an incredible sound to die for when fitted with an apt exhaust system. The smooth 6 pot is something to behold and the design was so different to anything we saw or have seen in a mass produced bike.
That Velo could be ANY old single, a bone shaker that removes fillings as you ride, pathetic performance and brakes and tyres to keep you honest above 30 mph. Don't be bloody ridiculous.
When my very old father passes i will get his 7-bike collection, which includes a 1957 BSA Gold Star DBD34 in 'Clubmans' trim. For a ancient single that is a pretty good bike, but a CBX offers much more soul. A straight 6 motorcycle is unique. A single ain't!
So you're saying a smooth engine is better than something that vibrates and has what many would describe as "character"?If you actually believe that and are not being silly for the sake of it!

It is character because that it what you are used to. For most bikers ICEs are part and parcel of biking because it is part of their past and what they grew up with. But for those new to biking in the future it will be different. Just as almost all people today have no interest in vintage bikes or steam tractors or horses (if you want “character” try getting half a tonne of thick, prey animal to follow your directions and jump over fences without killing you, accidentally or on purpose).
If you stop to think it is what you are brought up with. Otherwise how can you explain that all humans have the same taste buds but cuisines around the world vary so much and what will get (say) someone from China all misty eyed and salivating would make many Brits rather nervous.
I’ve had EV, and I’m still spending money on ICE. It’s what I prefer and with bikes it’s IMO much clearer than cars. Would an electric motor make an RG500 ‘better’? Would a Petronas FP be more evocative with one? That’s my personal issue. No vibrations, greater efficiency, yeah, fine. A Superduike etc is more than transport, it’s about how it makes you feel. And bike engines are the centrepiece, always have been. ‘Almost all people today have no interest in vintage’, that’s a brave statement. 20 year old bikes have gone through the roof lately because they have exactly the traits I’m describing. An EV will be even quicker, but will be so difficult to love. If you stop to think it is what you are brought up with. Jesus Christ man you need to let it go. I’ve moved on and suggest you do the same. We disagree, I’ve got better things to do than argue with you on here. srob would be so much fun at a party! :-)
Off on a slight tangent here but related. I have today tried out a customer's Tesla Type X SUV 7 seater, with the factory's 'ludicrous' mode for the battery pack. I believe he paid £97,000 for it.
Absolutely incredible acceleration, he tells me the 0-60 is listed as 2.6 seconds and 5 seconds to pass 100 mph. I can say that it is eerily shattering on performance. My nephew had no idea it was a supercar-baiting 4x4 and was not at all ready when i planted my right foot at 10 mph. He said he actually felt physically unwell, such was the way he was pinned to his seat but without the scream of a conventional engine as warning.
So yes, acceleration-wise i can see an electric superbike being crazy, 0-150 mph in 9 seconds i could see happening.
But compared to say the Ducati 1100 V4 Panigale, well, i know which i'd have even if it got to 200 mph in 10 seconds!
The 1299 Panigale V Twin is so special, also. Those 2 bikes are the absolute danglies, for slightly different reasons. I can't split them if i ever have one again.

You are simply wrong, anyway. There is no way a one speed electric mega sports will have the character or fun of a manual gearbox bike like the 1299 Panigale or the new Fireblade. No way. Ever.
There again some people say lettuce sandwiches are as good as a Sunday roast! Yes, each to their own eh!

Your lettuce sandwich example is hyperbole but there are many things I prefer to a Sunday roast although for some people a Sunday roast is their favourite meal.

Wont the laws of physics require any bike capable of doing 0 to 200mph in a few secs mean that the bike is very long with a fat rear tyre ?
so what we really have to look forward to are super fast electric drag bikes ?
With an electric bike you could use an in-wheel motor and an electrically extendable swingarm. So you could do 200mph in 3 seconds with a 10 ft long swingarm, then shorten the swingarm again and fly through the corners. Perfect.so what we really have to look forward to are super fast electric drag bikes ?

I guess by that time the powers that be will have us on self riding autonomous bikes so we cant hurt ourselves.......

I was there covering the piece anyway and 44T were let down at the last minute. I stepped in and covered it for them.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h80HQzZlwo8

It was a good piece as well, I enjoyed it and it will be interesting to see the final version. The analogy about Henry Ford, Horses and Fuel stations was good one too.
