Anybody seen the clips of Hickman at Ballagery?
There was one on instagram from the hedge on the outside just as he tips in that I can’t find again but it’s truly frightening.
Really made me think what these guys are actually doing. Amazing.

Official today from the coroner that the mistaken identity with the sidecar outfit was down to them wearing each other’s dog tags.

Hopefully some of the criticism that was thrown in the direction of the Marshall’s, medics and event organisers will now be retracted.

Shame that we know this within a few days, but even Steve mercer doesn’t know what a course car hit him head on in 2018…

Just watching knockhill BSB and Peter Hickman is racing in it - he is 15th place so far in the race - out of 18.

He isnt having a great year away from the TT this year, last year he was at the sharp end every race.
I guess he has to recalibrate for the short circuits after the TT and vice versa.

As has been said that was qualy, check out where Dean Harrison is if you want to further compare Road Racing skills to Circuit skills.

9 races into this season and Hicky has 67 points, last season, 9 races in, without the distraction of the TT, he had 73 points.

Hicky himself on Facebook saying he's having issues recalibrating his brain to short circuits after the TT, not surprising, and exacerbated by going to the shortest track on the calender at 48 seconds a lap , from the 17 mins a lap of the island.

Question from a non-biker...

I'm just catching up on today's BSB action and Glenn Irwin was interviewed on the grid before the race. He said something to the effect of " needing to recalibrate after the TT, getting used to the front folding, rear spinning, something that wasn't happening at the TT".

Is that due to track surface vs road, tyres used, combo of both, or...?

That's just Knockhill.
hehe

They are more on the limit on short circuit (BSB) compared to road racing. Fairly obvious the reason for that I think.

Glenn being a new comer would have had even more in hand at the TT I expect.

Not to go too far off topic but I've always wondered why such a large and sparsely populated country doesn't have a proper sized circuit.

Or at least another one.

Not enough old air fields at a guess.

Good question though. Not like there's a lack of Scots in motorsport.

Agreed.

BSB binned Mallory 'cos they were lapping @ 47s or something daft like that, they'd be better at somewhere like Pembrey than Knockhill, the Scottish equivalent of Three Sisters biggrin
I don't mind it as a fan. Throws up a few interesting results.

Yes, they've certainly not been very forthcoming.

Poor state of affairs given Steve was left with such devastating injuries that he's still trying to make progress with.

Yeah certainly shocking that it's not been resolved.
