Not enough old air fields at a guess.
Good question though. Not like there's a lack of Scots in motorsport.
Only East Fortune gets used for club motorcycle racing. I don't think they race in the park in Kirkcaldy any more, whilst Crail Airfield and the Royal Highland Showground at Ingliston are car rallying only. Knockholt is a bit mickey mouse tbh, but most of the old WW2 airfields are so far away from anywhere they wouldn't be commercially viable without a huge spend. Knockhill would be great if it was twice the sizeGood question though. Not like there's a lack of Scots in motorsport.
A couple of weekends ago we spent two nights and a day on the IoM with our motorbikes. Thankfully, the weather wasn't too bad and we had a fantastic time riding around the island. The TT course is very nice, with my favourite part being the west side of the island from Ballacraine and all the way to Ramsey. The Mountain was pretty entertaining at times, with the strong wind pushing the front wheel to skip and the surprisingly slippery white lines.
An amazing place and so pleased that I managed to experience it when it wasn't too busy, having watched TT videos, starting with the late DJ, since before I got my licence in 2002.

No discussion on the changes to the new TT schedule, with the Senior now on the Saturday.........
Not sure its a great Idea but all about the TV. Post TT cancelled. People with boats booked already will have to extend stay and marshals might be short again. Not sure I will be going next year. There was a few things this year that soured the event for me this year. Sidecar Man said:

Apart from the most unfortunate and upsetting loss of 6 lives, what else soured the TT for you this year.
Made to buy an Expensive FIM helmet on grounds of "Extra Safety" No problem i will do that. But then they allow a team to do a shakedown Lap with Helmet Cameras mounted to said FIM helmets Even though the FIM banned the use of helmets due to the dangers of them impacting the shell of the helmet. Said team then stopped on the lap after running in a new back tyre for a few miles and had team mates waiting behind road closed barrier to change tyre and adjust chain, Put bodywork back on and carry on the lap. Without the bike being checked by a technical inspection. But nothing was said about it!!!!

Olivier Lavorel Passed away earlier on today/yesterday four months after the accident in sidecar race one.
Poor lad.
Sad news.Poor lad.
Not sure what can be done but the bikes are just too powerful for the circuit now.
I know no one is forced to race blah blah but deaths every year is just ridiculous.

Sidecars are using 600 engines and have been for the last 15-20 years. You can get about 135bhp out of one. No different to the last 10 years!!Not sure what can be done but the bikes are just too powerful for the circuit now.

It must be very difficult for the organisers as regards the sidecars. Four people killed at the same location in one year.
Yeah very strange situation. As the crashes were identical and within 6" of each other. The road being planned and resurfaced at that point is also being looked at. Numerous new regulations are due for next year.

Sidecarman - out of interest, if there was a move to go back to 1000cc outfits, would you be up for it and do you think the rest of the competitors would too?
As a racer I think I know the answer but interested to hear what you say... Hypothetically of course so ignoring the cost involved etc, just the prospect of racing a faster outfit.

Well said. Tragic accidents but these things always bring out the casual fans & critics with their nonsensical opinions.

Difficult question Not sure I'd fancy it but if everyone was using one I guess I'd get on 1 . A short F2 bike with a 1000 in it would be lethal. I've been on an F2 with a 750 in it and that was hard enough. Bear in mind the long bikes have gone 600 and are now quicker than the 1000 due to better handling and higher corner speed.
