It's easy.

1. set budget
2. pick from those who will give you the best support on the setup
Not just the setup, but make sure you factor in serviceability and parts support. As pointed out up thread, with something like a 'shock factory' unit, can you get that properly maintained with ease?

The amount of people you see fit nice, suited suspension to their bikes - then never look at it again - is amazing.

You wouldn't leave the engine in your bike untouched for years without a change of oil and checking for levels. Shocks and forks are exactly the same. Oil gets contaminated, heat cycled (have you ever felt a chamber on a hard worked shock? eek ), gas pressures drop etc - serviceability (and parts to do so) should feature highly in any suspension decision smile

Unfortunately, in this modern disposable society, few people keep the bike long enough to worry about getting the suspension serviced anyway.

Cheers!

I don't think they do a full piston kit for this bike (looking at brook suspension site), so gonna go with this (which is what I think you're referring to) with springs and compression adjusters + fitting (unless my local garage can fit it for me?):

Yep, that's what I meant - it's a step down from a full cartridge kit but they're a lot more reasonable in terms of price and still make a massive improvement.

I've ridden them as standard and with the piston kits, springs and compression adjusters fitted and they're worth their weight in gold - most customers tend to buy all three items as a combo as they work really well together.
