Probably the most profound post to date on this thread. To be honest 26 years with the same bike is special but its made profound by the actual bike. Years go buy and people sell for funds or just for a change but to actually have a bike ( and a special bike) for that long is beyond my comprehension .
Fair play
He couldn't get the £10,000 on finance at the time so got a home improvement loan, the Honda was often referred to as his fitted kitchen.
Love those Dymags Scunnylad, what an icon..defo on my dream bike list.
Picked up the Speed Triple this morning after the dealer had it for a week to investigate the stalling issue, they updating the mapping, went over it and completed the first service , I had to visit a customer in Hertfordshire so took the bike, ran fine on the way down but then stalled and wouldnt restart on one of the busiest roundabouts in the county.
Pushed it up the pedestrian crossing and there we sat for a couple of hours, dealer(who I cant as yet complain about) picked me up , ive rejected the bike, no faith in it at all now , will think overnight if I want another Speed Triple or bin the whole idea for now..
A lad called Dennis from Watford stopped and fair play, went off to get me a drink and a sausage roll, nice to see that camaraderie in action. In the mele I forgot to pay him for the food and drink, if anyone knows Dennis drop me a PM!

Theres a few reports of exactly the same issue on the 1200 Facebook page, seems very low in numbers but its the exact same problem....except mine wouldnt restart on this occasion.Your right, I could go for another and the chances are it would be fine but the 1200 has many smaller niggles , which seemingly a fair few riders have experienced.
very annoying as id just got to the point it was very nearly run in and I was enjoying it more and more...

Sorry to hear of the problems with yours Podman. I’ve been lucky with mine and other than neutral being hard to find and the random service light, mine has been fine ever since the running in service.
I will admit I have been glancing for the exhaust cover r manifold nuts to vanish, but luckily all is good.
All I can say is if you get a good one, they’re great :/
