I'm gobsmacked how it's still comparable to today's bikes for the road.
Such a load of fun.

Glad it has met with your approval. I found the same thing, it really doesn't lack usable power or handling at all on the roads does it. I feel that a full suspension refresh/upgrade would be of benefit, but the rest of it was way ahead of its time and still very much can hold its own nowadays.

Great Evening ride out on the Kawasaki. The last before the TT. What a great time of year for bikers.

Unusual ride for me yesterday morning. Early start as I’ve just done with my last night shift and so went for a ride early in the morning. Stopped off at the side of the road to check the map and my bike attracted quite the crowd;

A bit different to the usual middle aged men that used to have one!

Later on I decided to stop at The Motorist for a bacon sandwich. Turns out they had a Japanese car show on. They were insistent that the bike was part of the display. Had a good look round a chuckled to myself about all the people cleaning their cars in the car park so they were spotless and I’d turned up on my old bike which hasn’t been washed since about September last year and was part of the display!

i do miss mine

i'm hoping they re-introdcue it as suzuki have with the bussa

a little upodate with decent led lights and cruise for me is handy - not fussed about cornering abs and six axis imu

Testing before my trackday

Mostly that my new leathers fit and that I can ride a CBR for an hour or two, the Honda's reliability isn't in doubt

I agree, it is a great bike, and can hustle along nicely for a big bus. I've had the front forks upgraded with K-Tech internals and that made a huge difference.

Mine has LED's fitted which actually light the road up now! I'd like a quick shifter and cruise, and possibly a nice TFT screen, but leave the analogue clocks. I can't see me selling this anytime soon.

Yep glad you’re liking that.
They look a bit wide and heavy sometimes but they don’t feel like at all. I loved mine.
I remember tyre choice being slightly limited due to the 16 inch front wheel. Not sure if that’s an issue these days though?

Must admit I’ve been looking on eBay a bit too much since your initial post.
Anyway enjoy it. thumbup

Fair play for going up in that! yikes
It’s bleak up there at the best of times. I’d have been nervous in a car, let alone on a bike.

Added some more miles to the ZXR.. all good except the speedo stopped working. The cable looks old and is split where it screws into the wheel hub. New cable ordered.

My ZX12R is booked in for its MOT Wednesday, so I’m looking forward to getting some miles on the beast. smile

First proper ride on one of these - it’s brilliant but made me miss my old £3k Blackbird. Lovely and smooth, super torquey but the pegs feel a bit high for my 6’3” frame. A really nice antidote to riding adventure bikes all the time…

Do you not carry a repair kit? In many cases you can be on your way again in less than 15 minutes.
