I often ride those roads Rick and have seen your ZZR parked up at the woods, I must say hello next time. Im from Louth originally, but been in Notts since 2008. Seems like Notts has a near blanket coverage of avg speed controlled 50mph limits these days so I tend to head east into Lincs or NE into Yorks. On an early Sunday morning ride out I can often get 100 miles in and around Lincs before I see some other traffic
Yeah, please say hello. 👍🏻bogie said:

That sounds like an early start bogie, probably to early for me, I'm Notts based and do some of that route, shorter rides see me through Southwell . Melton on to market Harborough is my other option but you are correct we are surrounded by average cameras amongst other things like weird un marked police cars I'm working out in Ibiza for a good chunk of this summer, rented a VanVan on my day off today and did a lap of the island. 168km covered on about 5l of fuel and that was thrashing it's tits off - it's a little bit more frugal than my Tuono!
Genuinely one of the most fun biking days I've had, no traffic, warm weather, twisties for miles and the odd off road track - who needs 200bhp!

Some pics from todays H2 meet at Caffeine and Machine.
A lively bunch, I dont think they would get on to well with any of the bikesafe courses mentioned above or my VJMC ride outs.
We left a garage in Stratford heading to the venue , leaving residents standing on the pavements looking none to happy, kids clasping their hands over their ears....
Making the cafe was met with supercharger blades chirping in the wind along with some of the finest aftermarket exhausts at full chat.
Number plates open to artistic license in size and font and even optional...
Last was on a ride out with this kind of feel in the 80s on my LC to Chelsea Bridge or perhaps Boxhill in the early 90s on my GSXRs.
Great bunch of blokes and I learnt a lot more about the bikes, I will confess as much as I wanted to take my bike, the slight chance of rain meant I took my S1000, of course it spat a couple of times but never rained until I was nearly home.
As for caffeine and machine, ive been going since it opened but stopped going on the bike when they started charging 5 to park .
This visit was all pre-booked, we could apparently claim 2.50 back for a coffee but there was a faff around email address's, then you could only order from a QR code on the table , that included if you just wanted a drink, which was a 15 min wait for a coffee.
Reception is poor around the area so it was a case of accessing the venues wifi before being able to view and order from the menu.
The food is gastro pub prices and good but the menu limited . Some of the group went back into Stratford for fish and chips.
I left around 3pm, as a couple arrived in a lovely looking F type, the attendant told them there was no 3 pm slots(there was loads of room to park at this stage) so could they come back at 4pm, which I thought was ridiculous, everything has to be done online , no one seems to be able to use their own common sense..
Totally up its own ass, one for the super car mob maybe, never again...

I dont usually get down as far as Melton as I live in the NE corner of Notts and the first 30 mins SW from my place is a 50 zone..hence head east instead, sometimes will go for an early run up into E.Yorks, across the bridge and get breakfast in Seaways cafe at Fridaythorpe, other than a couple of junctions of M180 its a nice run up. podman said:

Nah I look after some very nice yachts and my work offered the opportunity to come out here and start the process of doing what we do in the UK, Germany, Mallorca etc. so I couldn't say no with the scope of career development and a minimum of a summer in Ibiza!

You are not the first to say that about CM. I know others in car groups said its clicky/snobby. Cant vouch as I've never been
As for the Z'd riders - I've done a few with zed heads in london and they are quite a lively bunch too. Only bit thats not for me is the whole valve bouncing stuff. Rolling burn outs, wheelies I'm all cool for

Having a couple of those Ariel's myself that was a good move. They are quite often a pain to start when warm. They aren't much better when cold if you're too keen priming the carb.My Dad's RD200 made him very happy !
