My first day as a biker! I passed mod 2 yesterday and collected the Trident today. I'm so happy with my choice already, it's a much sweeter bike than the CB650R I learnt on.

A lovely thing. Would be good for a bit of feedback after you get a few miles in. I was also looking at the 650r.

Very nice, the bike that got me looking at two wheeled transport more seriously, there's something about the design that really does it for me as well.

OK, I'll admit cars are my thing and I know next to nothing about bikes, still like to look though. This got my attention today. Assume it is a small shot of smooth power but even so seems kind of crazy nuts

I must admit at motorway speeds my Tiger 800 suffers vibration- wheel balancing affect bikes like it does cars?

If anything it affects bikes more.

Shame about the 1200. I’ve seen a few people complaining about the vibration.
Ah well, I’ll just keep my 2014 Explorer a bit longer!

They’re the forerunner of the modern tracer 700 and 900.

They love them because they are fun, cheap, easy to ride and reliable. Weird, those continentals!

What’s the thing with amber headlights, saw a load of GS’s with amber lights earlier today, is it a fashion thing? Can’t be legal.

Yeah, I've noticed lots of GS' (GSi?) with amber perspex infront of the headlight. Must be the latest thing to buy when you've bolted an entire Motorrad accessories catalogue to your GS to ride up the A38 outside the wildeness of Burton on Trent.

Yeah, it is one of the few bikes where the vibes have really annoyed me. I'm used to riding twins so can handle big vibes, but the new Tiger 1200 sent my hands to sleep in short order (plus it made the mirrors hopeless at 75mph)...

Presumably just a style thing. My friend bought the bike recently with it already on and hasn't decided whether to take it off or not. I quite like it and at one point considered doing my own headlight, I should have some of the film lying round that I bought to do the fogs on my old Swift Sport. Don't think it would suit it though.

What it does do (and I'm not sure if this is intentional) is make the bike stand out from all the other headlights in the mirror and presumably to oncoming traffic.

I know what they are. I've just noticed that they are absolutely everywhere in France and Spain in particular, whereas they are a relatively rare sight in the UK.

The TDM 850 was my first experience of motorbikes, a mate at work had one and took me out on it.
After a blast round the block I was hooked.
That was over 20 years ago!
