What it does do (and I'm not sure if this is intentional) is make the bike stand out from all the other headlights in the mirror and presumably to oncoming traffic.
It may have been in a MotoBob video but supposedly the Triumph Street Twin has kept a conventional halogen bulb instead of an LED to give an authentic old school light colour.I've been interested enough in TDMs to download a scan of a magazine review. Some of the late ones seem to be priced quite highly by dealers. If you could only have one motorcycle to cover multiple roles it would seem a pretty good option.

Things like the triumph tiger 1050 sport or the Yamaha tracer would be the more modern equivalent. Great do it all bikes that aren’t really focussed at any one thing. How are you finding the GT. it’s on my shortlist along with the Kawasaki 1000SX, when I get round to changing my bike. MillenniumFalcon said:

What’s the thing with amber headlights, saw a load of GS’s with amber lights earlier today, is it a fashion thing? Can’t be legal.
White or yellow are both legal AFAIKUsed to be quite common back when the French required yellow headlights.
Old, old Top Gear - Yellow headlights >>>> https://youtu.be/vArQgTQVYcw
EDIT: Apparently introduced in 1936 at the request of the French military. No reason given, but it's believed that they wanted to be able to identify enemy vehicles in the event of an invasion.

Popped up to Pure Triumph in Wellingborough this morning and had a little mooch around, I think I'll be test riding a Street RS next year when I look to change. The 1200RR is a beautiful bike but a bit more than I would be looking to spend.
Took the B645 and a bit of the B660 home so had a decent morning out.

GS riders do seem to be the most risk averse, most seem to be togged up in a plethora of Hi Viz with the bike lit up like a Christmas Tree.

Agreed most GS riders are tossers in general standing about in all the gear and not much of a clue. I’m generally embarrassed to say I own one but they are an astonishingly good bit of kit. They can get down a road in a fashion they have no right to given their weight and size.

Most headlight guards come with some form of coloured plastic section for the DRL. Blue on mine which I know Is illegal but had no grief from the PSNI yet.

I’ve ridden one and they are an amazing bike. I just can’t quite buy into the image. My riding is mainly scratching so my S1000R hits the spot nicely.Agreed most GS riders are tossers in general standing about in all the gear and not much of a clue. The reviews are very positive, our local dealer (Kings Oxford) now have a demo so I’m considering trying one out. Could be replacement for my S1000RThis was just the bike really I'm too old for sports bikes now but this is comfy and fast enough 150bhp. I got the panniers as well but will only use them occasionally, bikes got Suzuki MySpin so you can have Sat Nav on the screen, listen to music and take calls if you need to etc which I thought was great as I like gadgets For the money I thought it was good value.
New head bearings for my bike this weekend. Felt a bit notchy on last weeks ride so ordered the bits and did it over the weekend. The old bearings were pretty rusty and the 33 year old original grease was no longer greasy. New bearings in and the bike feels better than ever, much more confident in it now.

If i remember rightly, back in the 80's you could buy yellow glaze type stuff to 'paint' your headlights with as it was all the rage back then. Lots of lads i know who had 125LC's or DT125LC's painted their head lights with this stuff. Perfectly legal and just changed the headlight from a white ish glow to a yellow one. Couldn't see the point meself
