I don't ride my bikes enough, so with the amazing weather we've been having I've been seeing how many consequtive days I can ride a bike for...day 14 today...

I'm actually enjoying getting the bikes out for the "just nipping out for an hour" rides, less hassle to find the time and arrange my day around work and the kids, and makes me ride more locally where I wouldn't normally. Also tending to go out after the youngest goes to bed around 6:30pm so at least it's cooled down a bit.

Nice ride out yesterday. Had a go on the CBR on the way back. I was well impressed with it. I had a fireblade the same shape and hated it but this was much better.

Have to admit it made me think about getting another bike!

View was worth it too

Love it. Did you ride the bike up there? What's the location?

A bit of excitment on Saturday. My first time (intentionally) off road. I managed to avoid falling off which was my top priority. Second priority was to have fun amd that was achieved too. However, I was obviously not trying hard enough as not really feeling any aches and pains.

Thought I would pop out for a pint of milk Sunday morning. Couldn't decide what to take but the roads were empty and the sun was already out.

Decision made

I forgot the milk and ended up in Hayling wondering where the refreshment van was.. very odd.

Looked at the time and it was 5.58.. ah that will be why hehe Chilled for an hour, van turned up and grabbed a bacon sarnie, a coffee and a tea and set off again..

Ended up in Portsmouth and grabbed a ferry and off to the IOW we go. Spoke to loads of people the MV draws a crowd and they all had positive things to say.

Met up with a B&B biker friendly guy and his wife, and they put me up 10 years ago.. ended up a ride round the island and crashing at theirs having a couple of beers last night. Missed my 11.30PM return ferry though!

A light breakfast and he took me back to the ferry as I had no gps and no clue how to get back hehe They weren't worried about my expired ticked and I rode straight on the ferry as cars were coming off as I pulled up. Bloody brilliant ride out and back. Scorchio though.

Stats: I put 3/4 of a 2 gallon jerry can in the bike before I left. Fuel light came on riding hard down the A27 so pulled in and filled it up just before Hayling £29.75 to brim. On the way home I got as far as the A3 services past Guildford heading back to London.. light came on again. Put another £25 in to brim it again. Ferry was £26 there and £26 back, beer and two bottles of wine for the host was £15, food and rent was free as I fixed their PC while I was there biggrin

First on the ferry meant I got pole position in the top lounge with the best view.. felt like royalty laugh

New group to ride out with and somewhere where I will stay again. Got to love bikers as a community.[url]

Bye bye IOW until the next time...

MV Agusta F4 1000 (2006)

Likes:
Best handling bike I've ever ridden or bike that I found easiest to chuck in and change directions on.
Brakes very progressive and positive.
Engine from 7k goes like a screaming possessed cat that has been set on fire.
Seat surprisingly comfortable for a sports bike.

Dislikes:
Side stand is the most ridiculously insecure device which is too short and does not feel positive at any angle.
Toasted testicles.
Toasty engine reaching 101 degrees.. I need to add water wetter.
Vibrations through the rh bar.Totally numb hand after 3 hours riding.
Mileage now 3,520

Woke up this morning to my indicator hanging out, thank God for the tool kit the ninja came with, whipped it out as I was 50 miles from home with nothing. Then the bloody horn broke off and was hanging just by its signal cables, I wondered what that noise was so I ripped that off.

Got to Berwick but then had to push the bike a mile around a caravan park as it won't start again when hot.

Went to get super unleaded at Tesco, bloody E5 limits it at times, and guess what, It wont start again after I filled it up, I suspect the petcock valve is faulty, that or it needs a new battery. It was running perfect all weekend as well.

So I got beer while it cooled, I love bike boots on sportsbikes. I'll just have to ride it home non stop tomorrow, that's if it starts eek

What a bd, I was bloody loving it on the way here and this weekend, did I say how good the brakes are.

Yes I was thinking that. It still fits in, just lacking in emissions credibility frown and a 6 axis IMU would be great.

I thought that too before I left but the F4 is more of an investment bike if such a thing exists. Happy to put mileage on it now, feel more confident with it to use as short trips in the sun. ZZR has no MOT it's just turned 3 and I need to find a legal plate biggrin Strangely enough I had a ZZR1400 when I was here ten years ago.. they are great bikes, here it is from the last trip to the IOW.

Thanks. I only had a t-shirt on and my biker gear so totally not equipped for anything. Do you remember my "Flatheads Micro Adventure" thread on the ZZR? This was the place I stayed with then and that was ten years ago yikes although he has a different woman now and is married smile

Thanks it was great fun because its all random.

Here's a link to my last time I was here, staying at the same place. I lost their contact details but found the house again when I drove past it yesterday biggrin

Flatheads Micro Adventure

If anyone rides over to the IOW and wants a place to stay, this is a really friendly bikers B&B, They have a really nice double and I think there is another single room too now. Place is immaculate and there is a convenience store two doors down. Based in Ventnor

Cheers guys beer
