Picked up a set of 2nd hand 17” rims for the 690, bit of a ball ache to fit them, but they’re on now, just got to sort the speedo error.
On the older Superduke you could adjust the speedo to suit the different rolling radius of 17/21" wheels. Wouldn't have been that difficult as it only had 2 buttons on the display, would see the option when changing from mph to kmh.Waynester said:

Got out for the first proper ride on the new bike, really loved it. Superb engine, great handling and makes me smile muchly. Ideal machine for the local roads around Snowdonia. It just needs the exhaust cans replacing though, reduce the weight and get more of the engine note.
Very nice. But then I would say that as I’ve got one too As for exhausts, plenty of choice, but Arrow is what the dealers used to fit to this age of bike - I have the twin high mounts on mine which retain the OE headers and cat. I prefer the deeper sound of these to the louder/raspier sound of the Arrow 3-into-1 full system / cat delete / side mount can you can also get - tried one for a bit but ended up going back again.

Me too - I've got the Arrow side mount it just seems like a better solution - lower and less weightAs for exhausts, plenty of choice, but Arrow is what the dealers used to fit to this age of bike - I have the twin high mounts on mine which retain the OE headers and cat. My last one had the baffle in a was a bit too quiet, my current one the PO ground the baffle out and whilst I like it, it's a bit anti social so I think I'll be putting something back in

Lovely bikes aren't they! It is my first naked bike after 30 years of sportsbikes. I really can see what all the fuss is about with them. Such an amazing and fun bike to ride. Interesting to hear that the twin high system retains the bassy note, that is quite appealing. Did you need a remap for either system on yours or was it just fit the exhaust and head out to play?
They need a remap, dealers used to do it for around £20-£25 if you fit the exhaust yourself. World of Triumph have the twin Arrow silencers in their sale at the moment for around £700.I preferred the "Low Boy" system. The earlier versions of that system for the 2011 bikes was louder, and then the version around 2015/16 was quieter.

Yes, this. The low boy is certainly lighter and lowers where the weight is on the bike, but I personally preferred the look and sound of the high mount twins - each to their own etc.
I fitted a lithium battery to offset the weight seeing as the batteries are very high up on these bikes (just behind the headstock, not under the seat where you’d probably expect).

261 miles today around Lancashire, Yorkshire and Cumbria. Brilliant empty roads but very bumpy and not really suited to this bike compared to the fast smooth flowing roads of North/Mid Wales I normally go to. Spent half the time getting buckarood out the seat. Great change of scenery though.
Two Chinooks flying through the valley at 100ft whilst I was pulled over for a piss was cool too.
