Had a ride up the local mountain - freezing -2°C up there. Was dressed for the valley, but 780m elevation difference meant it got a lot colder on the way up. Bike's battery did fine (73km spirited driving town and country, 29% left on return), but the telephone battery died at the peak - 70% gone in one hour with GPS and BT music.

First proper ride of the year - if you can call an hour including a fuel stop a proper ride.

Neck already aching, but chicken strips are as small at start of this season as they were at the end of last years riding.

New levers so I’ve got work to do on my clutch and shift blending.

First ride out this year on my little Z650, it's fun thrashing it round the country lanes.
It must be spring because there were loads of scooters out, looked like they were all headed somewhere towards Knaresborough, the smell of two stroke was in the air!

Looks great but I don’t recognise it? Is it a KTM?

It’s a Dorsoduro 750.

I can’t leave anything alone so it’s got a short seat subframe and guard, with a low exit exhaust, instead of a twin exhaust under the seat. Changes the look of it a lot and you can really feel the reduced weight high up when you turn in.

Been 10+ months since I've ridden my lil 250

This is up there as one of my favourite bikes alongside my maico 490s

Passed MOT easy put a full tank of the super unleaded stuff and then proceeded to create a blue haze all the way down my local arterial as it cleared it's lungs - Greta would've been proud

There is something special about these. They go like stink, they make everything smell and just make me feel like a teenager again

Love the sight, sound and smell of a 2T.. sod Greta wink I had a Kawasaki KR-1 and Suzuki RGV and loved them both. Brilliant little bikes!

Cheers. It’s a bit marmite. People like it but a lot of people also think it ought to be much more standard. I don’t do standard though.

It’s a lot more obvious from the front:

The weather yesterday was too good to miss, so a 5 hour sunny ride out was the outcome. Absolutely love this bike, so much fun and the soundtrack is addictive. However, my local KTM dealer offered me a very good deal in part ex on a new Superduke 1290R. Tempting I have to say.

First ride out since my dad passed away 3 weeks ago.
Difficult, as we almost always rode together, not quite the same stopping for a coffee on your own and no post ride chat.
Nice to get some head space though with everything going on.

Sorry to here that. I too went out for solo coffee (and tart) chilly ride. Got down to 2.5C, still quite a bit of snow around.

I'm really sorry to read this about your dad. My condolences.

I hope the bike time and old pics give you some great memories of him

Got a parcel from Jakarta, so now have a CD-sized floating disc for my ST70 > ST 175 conversion.
I would have liked a more "classic, round, drilled" disc but hey, glad that I found this one.

Only available with anodized tat buttons but they almost match the Honda candy blue.

I cut the useless "brake drum casting" to clear the brake caliper
and filled the remaining hole with a handmade DiBond cover.

Fork is a mix of 6V yokes with 30mm China legs as I want a "stock-ish" look,
keep the folding handlebars and steering lock.

Picked up the o/h's new bike for her on Friday after she passed her test and I must say, I'm quite smitten with it. Looking forward to a proper shot of it when it's run in.
