Wrap some electrical and duct tape round that socket extension, good to have some with you for those “get you home” repairs.
Clever idea!!!

It has everything I need for minor fixes, plus I'll have a few lighter things in a back pack (tow strap, first aid kit, saw, fuses etc. I decided in the end that I won't carry stuff to take the wheels off, I'll just use zip ties to get me to somewhere I can call the AA. hehe I'm sh!t at getting tyres on and off anyway, even in the garage, let alone in the forest. So this is just for daily rides, not multi-day trips.

Unless your 'extreme tape' is heat resistant you could add some metal 'cable tie' thingies (like used on car CV boots) and/or some lockwire in case it's something exhaust-wise that needs secured where plastic ties will melt. And a wee bar of that 'kneed-together' plastic metal stuff for fuel leaks and the like.

What year is your SD GT? Mine is a 2017 and I'd like to do the same to mine.
Any thoughts on the quality of the kit after installing?

Mine's a 2016.

The kit is brilliant quality, I can stress that enough. The only bit I did not like the fitment of was the little silver belly pan wings - but I wanted to paint mine matt black anyways without any other graphics so that worked out well. I think the stickers of silver looks a bit naff - although thats not really anything with the kit.

Also start with all the easy panels first to get a feel for it. I went in a little hot and did the right side of the tank early on and wish I waited until I had a better "feel" for it - I have a small bubble or two. The front mudguard is the bd however.

Thanks for the advice, I have a friend who wraps cars so hopefully I can grab him for a day.
Was yours this one but in matte? https://www.motoproworks.com/products/ktm-superduk...

Yeah, they Black/Orange in Matt. I didn't get the pannier or wheels decals, sort of wished I got the pannier ones - the wheels I'm going to do a custom colour

If I had the grey base bike I'd have gone for the black/grey. Have a look on YouTube of one of those

Down to see the dusty Busa before the panels go back on. Then new fork seals and tyres will have it sorted for summer.

New lid time too. Grudged moving on from my Bell.

A pre mot spot of maintenance
If you didn't do it this time, next time you get that involved it's worth pulling the hub out to clean it all. Otherwise dirt and stuff gets in there and makes it harder and harder to adjust the chain. By the time it gets difficult it's a hassle of a job so better to do it periodically.

I assume it's got an aftermarket exhaust? Mine had the standard and it had a hinged joint in it so you could remove the wheel by swinging the exhaust out of the way. Quite convenient, but would have looked better if they'd put the exhaust on the other side...
.
First priority is 9am Tuesday, will it pass the MOT.
I know all about the rear hub, it is high on my list, along with the two front downpipes and a full service... Parts are ordered. :-)

Getting the big bike ready for Monday. Let's hope it doesn't rain. It's pissed down around 2.30 and its started again 30 minutes ago.

First trip out on the T140, it behaved itself - passed a couple of modern Triumphs on the A3M - made me smile. there's still a bit of life in the old banger.

Spent the day with a 70's Z650 and the 900ss - the Ducati is a lovely thing, I think I want one.

Well hello Mr 3door

I was going to have a run out on my 125 today but as usual, rain stopped play.

The new Monkey looks good.

Bonjour Mr BN - It's great fun - lots of traffic today, 125s are the way forward. The big bikes just can't stretch their legs and frustrate.

Still have the Fizzie and the RD then?

I have more fun on my smaller bikes. Yes, I still have the RD and Fizzy, the Fizzy shat its self in August last year, looks like its a main bearing seizure, I've been to lazy to sort it though.

Glad you're enjoying the smaller bikes Pete, they're great fun.

New bike for my wife. I apparently volunteered to run it in!!
That’s 600 miles I don’t want to repeat.
