Out on the new Monkey today enjoying the weather! Much comfier and more chilled than my old Grom.

Nice one Pete! I don't how I've gone so long without a monkey bike in my garage, it would probably be the only bike that I could get both feet flat on the floor!. biglaugh

Re Yamaha Niken GT;
About the same as a Honda Pan European or Yam FJ1300 to push about, it is heavy but the steering lock actually allows more movement than the Triumph, yep mirrors only a touch wider than the panniers, luckily retired so days of commuting in traffic have passed.

I test rode one as I have a liking for the slightly quirky, Incredible front end grip in the corners even in the wet. Didn't really feel wide at all except the seat which, for me, made it feel taller ie I struggled a bit getting both feet down

I took one out a fair while back for the day, I just couldn't get excited about it, it did noting wrong, it just felt a bit of a gimmick.

A nice Easter Sunday out on the local trails.

It took me about 10 minutes to extricate the bike from here. Pretty steep and very soft mud. I had to go backwards down the hill in the end, both me and the bike had no grip at all. The joys of dirt biking alone.

Hats off, I'd maybe tackle that on my MTB(E) but not sure I do it on a dirt bike

Yeah, I bumped into a mate on the trails on Saturday, and then two more came along. He lead the three of us on some trails I hadn't been on before, some pretty vertical sections. I tried a few, succeeded on a couple, but went around a couple too as they were definitely above my skill grade. It's good to test yourself every now and again as you learn you can do something new.

But then again I crashed there on Saturday, and then again on Sunday ha ha. I managed it in the end as I had to go back downhill to try again. I MTB in this forest as well so know some of it.

After 40 years of riding, finally went to squires on Saturday . I wish I had gone to this place years ago. It was so good I went again yesterday smile Will now be a rugular thing I guess.

Love that SD sicker kit. Check out Sam Vincent on YouTube as he's got a discount code for them.

Squires is great. Camped there a coupe of times and it's nice to be around so many like minded people.

Went to the unofficial Southend Shakedown today on my new commuter. Lovely ride over from Kent but it was grim on the way home. Biblical rain on the A13 made me wish I'd taken my 1290 with its fairings and screen.

Ha, nice.

My first ride of the season over here on the west coast. I rebuilt the top end, forks serviced, linkages, swingarm bearings etc all re-greased over winter, so a gentle (ish) ride to break them all in. Great to blow out the cobwebs early this morning (circa 4c degs).

I had an afternoon without anything really going on and the sun was out, so decided to make a blast out the caffeine and machine in Bedford.
Really nice ride out there, sat there with a drink watching the world go by, really nice atmosphere.
First time out on the RGV this year.

Took the long way home and put the first 100ish miles on the (future) winter hack (and it rained only for the last 10 miles or so).

Coffee break at Cotswold Airport.

Almost finished running in mileage on this with a quick spin yesterday. Can't wait to get the first service done next week and open it up properly.

Fantastic looking bike.. Suzuki really nailed it with the VJ22.. I bought an RGV new back in 1993, in the black with purple decals..but your bike was always the best paint scheme.. classic Suzuki colours

They had a winter sale where everything was massively discounted, so I paid arou d £200 for the stickers - but it was an extra £80 import, VAT and clearance fees.
Yer as mentioned by someone else, Sam Vincent has a 15% discount code which is the same as what they were offering, but an additional £80 worth of fees would sting a little…
