Not had to change them yet, they were changed when I bought it and it only has 4900 miles on the clock..
But I’ve had a taste as I fitted trickle charger cables to the battery.. what a pia that was!
Brilliant bike, but that monocoque frame makes working on it a bit of a ball ache!

I've got a full service including fork oil, rear caliper rebuild and might do the battery just for extra points as although it's pretty old (14 years).. I've had it on a trickle charger from new I feel like that's a pretty good run!

Did anyone else here used to go to this crazy popular bike meet back in the day?
The pub has dropped the “Lord” bit from the name now.
Felt a bit sad revisiting it.
I remember going there a few times around 1999. People and bikes lined up on the central reservation and the verges either side of the dual carriage way between the M3 and pub roundabout. People racing up and down from each of the roundabouts, it was a bit crazy. Did it just fizzle out or did the police put an end to it?The pub has dropped the “Lord” bit from the name now.

I was there the other week. The potholes are ridiculous, super massive black holes in the road. I thought the roads were bad up here, the locals down the borders just seemed to just accept them. I aint going back till they fill the roads.
OK, we'll sort something out Via phone, maybe June time when/if the weather improves. One from Sunday. Got back from my hols at the end of the week and thought a wee jaunt to a Scottish Classics motorcycle meet with the ‘47 Chief would clear the jet lag. A bit chilly when I left home but dry - then on route the heavens opened.
Cold, wet, miserable and with enough layers to rival the Michelin man. Only bright side was I remembered to bring a woolly hat. Bike was running well, but I have zero confidence in these old square-section tyres in the wet so mucho woosey upright cornering.
On the bright side the ‘new’[er] Chief got through its MOT today. Still a bit of a chilly ride, but at least dry and partially sunny.

( POLICE CRACKDOWN ON BIKERS MEETING.
A zero tolerance policy has been adopted as the police mount a controversial crackdown on a popular monthly bikers meeting in north hampshire.
The hardline approach has been addopted because of fears that the event is growing to large to be conducted in a safe and responsible way.
Inspector Raison of the "Hampshire police north traffic division, said: "Nothing would please us more than to see these meetings come to an end.
the disruption to the local area and the few incidents of dangerous driving are a great concern".
At the meeting last wednesday night more than 35 traffic police officers attended the event and the 2,500 people who gathered on the A287 near the Lord Derby were met by the officers to check their machines to make sure they were not breaking any laws.
A police spotter plane also flew overhead to video the event to detect any possible offences.)

That’s Hooli on the far left?He came and rode a few of our old bikes about the same time as he’d always wanted to try one.
