With regards to the paperwork, I came back from France a few weeks ago and Eurotunnel either weren't asking for as much info or they had access to passenger locator forms electronically, because the queue, although slower moving than usual, was nowhere near as bad as P&O in Calais. It's not really a problem in the sun but if it had been raining, would have been a miserable wait.

I had all the forms to enter each country but they were never asked for - maybe if you came to the attention of plod they might have asked or investigated, but unlikely.

It was a really nice trip - thanks again to David, I like to tour myself but it's good to go with the OGs too because the evening meals are much more enjoyable when you've tasted . . . oh no, when you've got similar people to take the mickey out of . . . . and there was a lot of that last week. Some lovely food, wine and beer and some of the best roads ever created, I'm sure many of the planners were bikers !

Thanks for your posts op! I really enjoyed that and it made the trudge home on the train much better.

I’ve found so far that it’s business as usual in mainland Europe.

Border controls aren’t interested in bikes and get waved through….6 countries so far and it’s been the English border/ferry that’s been the worst €75 for their test as the NHS isn’t good enough apparently.

Although there are Covid signs and rules everywhere in Italy, as you’re outside most of the time, no-one apart from the Motgp has asked me for any documents.

I paid €20 for a Italian test and green pass to ensure I got in thankfully.

Police have been noticeable by their absence on the roads too, I did pass one carabinieri with mid 200kph on the clock and they didn’t do anything, I may have been in convoy with some fast moving Italian cars at the time though… wink
